To me the proper response to the Dodgers excluding The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence from a Pride 🏳️‍🌈 Event is for all the other gay folk to come dressed as The Sister of Perpetual Indulgence. The message is respect ALL of our community, not just the bits that are convenient. I mean, The Sisters have proven themselves year after year for decades. They’ve earned the respect.

My life right now… image But hey, I’m back in street clothes and hopefully will be discharged to rehab today (maybe tomorrow).

The view from my hospital room… image Gotta say even the food is half way decent. If I’m lucky I’ll get admitted into in-patient rehab and will be here a couple more weeks (+/-). Otherwise they send me home soon and I don’t get nearly as much therapy. 🤞

#BelieveScience! "Study of Hospitalizations in Canada Quantifies Benefit of COVID-19 Vaccine to Reduce Death, ICU Admissions" > "A cohort study of more than 1.5 million hospital admissions in Canada through the first 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic has quantified the benefit of vaccinations. Unvaccinated patients were found to be up to 15 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than fully vaccinated patients." > > "During waves five and six, unvaccinated patients were 4.3 times more likely to end up in the ICU than fully vaccinated patients and were 12.2 times more likely than fully vaccinated-plus patients. Likewise, the rate for all-cause in-hospital death for unvaccinated patients was 3.9 times greater than that for fully vaccinated patients and 15.1 times greater than that for fully vaccinated-plus patients." ("fully vaccinated plus" means more than 2 shots). #COVID #vaccines #science #medicine #SARSCoV2 #VaccineEfficacy

This article is _so_ spot on! I hate it when straight folks invade queer safe spaces. They think they're being cool. They might even think it shows them to be our ally, but obliterating our safe spaces is not consistent with being an ally. And gay guys are sometimes part of the problem. Young gay guys who (until recently) never knew what it was like to be an oppressed minority sometimes invite their "girlfriends" out to the gay bar with them. But then, in the din of the noise you start hearing more girls' voices than male voices - and it's just not the same anymore.

Today's awesome news is that the last federal hurdle has been cleared for #NYC #CongestionPricing! I wish it covered more of the City, but it's a start. It will reduce the number of cars we cyclists have to deal with. Reduce double parking. Make the City a tad quieter. The air will be cleaner. It will get more people to take LIRR & MetroNorth. It's just all around great news…

Was planning on riding down the South County trail from Pleasantville today, but had saddle sores which made that impossible, so went for a (long) walk to the bike store to buy a new saddle. BUT the guy who does fittings is off on Sundays so all I accomplished was a nice long walk. Sadly I didn’t take any pics… https://strava.app.link/LJPyzJtmCzb

Given that it’s Fox News saying this, is it real? And of course I’m reading this as I drink a Bud Lite… For fucks sake… pick a fuckin’ side. Do they seriously want to be boycotted by everyone? I think I’ll drink Miller Lite until the dust settles on this one…

My goal this weekend is to get back on my bike - both days! It’s been FAR too long and I’m getting fat!

Yeah!! It looks like NYC is going to be able to start using cameras on buses to fine people who block bike lanes, bus stops, truck loading zones, crosswalks and intersections. That will vastly improve our city! NYPD Traffic is completely useless at anything but directing traffic (and not even particularly good at that). They'll probably use similar rules to how they currently fine people for bus _lane_ violations - it has to be seen more than once over a defined period of time. (Quickie violations are OK).
