Exactly how did we go from "well regulated militia" to this? "A 20-year-old woman was shot and killed after her friend turned into the wrong driveway in upstate New York" https://apple.news/AU_yM4TOMQkKwZe0F19914A "'We thought we were at the right address,' Walsh told NBC. 'We didn't have any cell service to figure it out. As soon as we figured out that we were at the wrong location, we started to leave, and that's when everything happened.'" I think we should go back to the 2nd Amendment and put more emphasis on the "well regulated" part. The 2nd Amendment was never meant to be a suicide pact!

Why do Nostr clients favor .to (Tonga) TLDs? (Iris.to, hamstr.to…)

I'm really proud of my community for standing up to the New York Times over their coverage of #trans issues… > About 200 New York Times contributors have signed an open letter calling out the legacy newspaper for its coverage of transgender issues. > > In the letter addressed to the Times' associate managing editor for standards, the contributors say they have "serious concerns about editorial bias in the newspaper's reporting on transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming people." > > In the letter, they say the Times has treated coverage of gender diversity "with an eerily familiar mix of pseudoscience and euphemistic, charged language," and recent reporting has omitted some sources' associations with anti-trans groups. > > A group of more than 130 LGBTQ advocates and organizations released a coordinated but separate statement on Wednesday accusing the Times of coverage that elevates harmful and false information about trans issues and is "damaging to the paper's credibility." > > Representatives from the advocacy organization GLAAD hand-delivered hard copies of that letter to the newspaper. It was also signed by celebrities including comedian Hannah Gadsby and actor Jameela Jamil. #LGBT #NYTimes #TransRights

Reading stuff here I get the sense that Bitcoin is a cult. The cult followers are nice, friendly and harmless, but there’s definitely a religious component to it. And like a cult, no matter how wacky it may seem to an outsider, it doesn’t mean good things can’t come out of it and that parts of the ideology aren’t useful. Nostr & lightning payments are examples of the good that has come out of the cult of Bitcoin…
