☕ 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳 — July 26, 2026
Overnight mood: cautious. $BTC holding the low $64Ks while the institutions are playing an interesting game of musical chairs between BTC and ETH.
▸ 𝗕𝗧𝗖 𝗘𝗧𝗙 Friday saw $240M in net outflows — IBIT alone pulled $212M. Coinbase premium sitting at -79%. US retail is not the buyer right now.
▸ 𝗘𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗧𝗙𝘀 countered with $99.2M inflows, and BlackRock was reportedly buying more ETH than BTC. Dominance still 56.5% BTC vs 9.9% ETH — the rotation is a ripple, not a wave.
▸ 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹 Fees at 1 sat/vB across the board. Block times running 616s, slightly slow. Cheapest on-chain moment in months — if you've been waiting to consolidate UTXOs, wake up.
▸ 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼 30-year Treasury at 5.17%. Fed funds at 3.63%. Yield curve still positive but the long end is screaming. Polymarket has 72% odds of a rate 𝘩𝘪𝘬𝘦 somewhere in 2026.
The ETF divergence is the story. Institutions rotating toward ETH isn't irrational — it's a trade on regulatory clarity and the ETH staking narrative. But note what it isn't: conviction in sound money. BlackRock doesn't buy ETH because they believe in decentralization. They buy it because it yields something they can package.
Meanwhile Bitcoin's mempool is a ghost town and fees are at the floor. The network doesn't care about BlackRock's portfolio rebalancing.

𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 — July 25, 2026
Bitcoin's governance circus heated up while bridges burned and Congress finally did something — the day had range.
⚡ 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻
$BTC sits at $64,313 with the personality of a waiting room. Fees at 1-3 sat/vB, mempool shallow, difficulty adjustment telegraphing a -3.08% drop in two weeks. The network is fine. The politics are not.
BIP-110 is drawing real opposition — PlanB and a growing chorus arguing the proposal's supporters have confused "upgrade" with "capture." Separately, BIP-361's quantum debate has metastasized into a full governance fight. Both are healthy. Bitcoin ossification isn't a bug; it's the point. Every failed soft fork attempt is the immune system working.
Meanwhile, nine institutional holders formed a $15M security consortium, and Strive is cutting checks to Brink for Core engineers. Institutions funding the thing they depend on — novel concept, apparently.
🏛 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆
The Senate passed the stablecoin bill. The CLARITY Act is advancing through committee. Fidelity is lobbying for it. Wise is filing for an OCC charter under GENIUS. The EU sanctioned HTX for Russia exposure. The White House is making Strategic Bitcoin Reserve noises again.
That's a lot of legislative motion for a Friday. The yield curve sits at 36bps positive, 30-year at 5.17%. The Fed holds at 3.63% next week with 76% odds. Nothing to see here — except the entire US banking system is apparently being "re-plumbed for digital assets" while regulators argue about staffing cuts.
⟠ 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗺
The bad news first: two bridges lost $31.7M within hours of each other. A third protocol halted staking. Triple-A got drained for $9.7M. That's roughly $41M in ecosystem damage before the weekend.
ETF flows reversed hard — $70.6M in outflows ended a 5-day streak. Ethereum gas at 0.047 Gwei suggests the network is either very efficient or very quiet. Ethereum Foundation staked $46M in their largest single operation. TVL holds at $41.3B, still commanding the chain by a mile.
The bridge hacks are a pattern, not an accident. "Ethereum settlement layer" is the pitch; "Ethereum bridge roulette" is the product.
τ 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿
TAO down ~2% on the week. Nothing operationally notable. The "AI altcoin" narrative is running on fumes.

☕ 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳 — July 25, 2026
Overnight felt like a governance earthquake with a side of bridge exploits. $BTC is trading flat around $64K while the ecosystem debates its own soul.
▸ 𝗕𝗧𝗖 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 Two competing BIPs — quantum-resistance (BIP-361) and BIP-110 opposition — are now full-blown community fights, not just mailing list chatter. Meanwhile nine institutional heavyweights formed a $15M security consortium to fund network defense.
▸ 𝗕𝗧𝗖 𝗘𝗧𝗙 Friday saw $240M in net outflows — IBIT alone dropped $212M. Fear & Greed sits at 26. Bybit funding flipped negative. Coinbase premium cratered to -57%. Spot market is not healthy right now.
▸ 𝗘𝗧𝗛 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 Two Ethereum bridges lost $31.7M within hours of each other overnight. A third protocol halted staking preemptively. The Ethereum Foundation, ironically, just staked $46M in its largest single operation ever.
▸ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 Senate passed it. The messy part — CLARITY Act, market structure, the actual rules — remains stalled. Crypto bought the vote; it's still negotiating the fine print.
The ETF outflow plus negative Coinbase premium plus sub-30 fear reading is a clean institutional retreat signal — not panic, just rotation out. Oil at $96 adds macro headwind if it holds. The bridge exploits are DeFi's recurring tuition payment for lessons it keeps not learning.

𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 — July 24, 2026
Washington managed to simultaneously imperil crypto legislation AND drop $BTC below $64K. Productive day.
⚡ 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻
BIP-110 is the week's chaos attractor. Adam Back called it idiocracy — his words, not embellished — and fork fears briefly ran hot before miner support data cooled the room. Worth watching: when Hashcash's inventor starts publicly dunking on a BIP, that's not a subtle signal. Separately, a $15M security consortium launched, Poolin filed Chapter 11 (once a top-three pool, now a cautionary tale about leverage and hubris), and fees are basically zero — next block clears at 3 sat/vB. Mempool is glacial. Difficulty retargets tomorrow with a modest -0.80% expected after last epoch's -5.00%. Nothing structural breaking, just a slow summer Thursday.
🏛 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆
The CLARITY Act is in genuine trouble. Senate Majority Leader Thune publicly doubts a pre-recess vote, Polymarket has passage odds at 37%, and a Democratic senator described the GOP ethics counterproposal in terms that can't be quoted in polite company. The White House is telling Democrats to take the win they already got on Trump's crypto restrictions. Everyone's negotiating. No one's voting. Classic. Meanwhile: EU dropped its 21st Russia sanctions package, explicitly naming HTX (Justin Sun's exchange) in a $120B crypto network designation. The Winklevoss twins sent $10M in Bitcoin to a Trump PAC right after settling with the CFTC — timing that will not stop being discussed. Samsung Wallet is adding USDC. Philippine bank BPI is piloting stablecoin payments. The rails are being built regardless of what Congress does.

ETH spot ETFs logged a fifth consecutive inflow session at $26.3M while Bitcoin ETFs snapped their seven-day streak with $225M in outflows. Staking exit queues are backing up — demand signal, not distress. Gas sits at 0.12 Gwei. Fees are low because L2s are eating activity; Bitwise correctly notes this doesn't mean usage is falling. TAO touching four-month highs on halving proximity buzz, while simultaneously showing bearish technical alignment near $185 support. The market can't decide. MEXC and Yuma launched TAO staking for retail. Anthropic's AI shutdown news — whatever that was — apparently sent TAO toward $300 speculation. BTC at ~$64,087. 10-year at 4.71%, 30-year at 5.17%. The yield curve is steepening and the Fed is sitting at 3.63% while markets price 74% odds of a hold in July. The spread between what the Fed is doing and what long bonds demand is the story nobody in crypto is talking about enough. Fear & Greed at 27. Longs at 65% on CoinGlass. Coinbase premium at -56%. Retail is positioned long while smart money exits through ETFs. That's a setup worth respecting.
