This reminds me. I feel like this attractiveness range (it applies to both friends and potential mates) explains why so many people think LLMs are *Wow, so smart!* but some of us are completely underwhelmed.
Like, I'm impressed with the stuff it can do and how much tedious effort I can offload to it -- although I have started missing the tedious stuff, actually, there's something to be said for zoning out to tedious labour -- but it mostly seems like a programmable robot and a chatty search engine, to me. And I only interact with the most-advanced models.
Everything lesser seems dull and dumb as dog shit. Like that annoying guy at the döner store who tries to chat you up, but can barely reason his way out of a paper box, and it's like, Just give me the döner, please. 🥙
Mr. Chatbot, just give me the damned döner.

🎵Die Gedanken sind frei.
I'm okay with being kind of a badass.
Vibe-coding gets you out of the box really fast, but I'm sick of not knowing my way around the code and building in languages I haven't learnt yet, like Kotlin and Elixir.
In 10 days my Cursor Ultra switches to the much-cheaper Cursor Pro and my development journey will change. I want to hand-roll a lot more, going forward.
Also, vibe-coding gets incredibly tedious, incredibly fast, if you do it for 60 hours/week. I feel like I've "done" vibe-coding and I miss stuff like Jenkins (don't shoot me).
New #Imwald Android version is out, with bug-fixes, some rebranding, and date-range search for events (for those of you wanting a way-back machine).
Still no GIF API integration. That'll be in the next round.

For those who want to know how to build a Nostr thread for any OP kind without breaking anything or going insane.
Just point your LLM at this and chill.

Which daily drivers work on iOS that support kind 1111 and signers?
We're all OtherStuff-ing, now. I came home, after my first day of work, to Nostr and chill with my frens... in private groups.

Because kind 1 replies suck ass and are lasting evidence of incompetence in spec design and a burden on newer devs that is only dragged along in the protocol because a couple of indifferent devs got mind-boggling amounts of money to build what amounts to a mobile phone widget and have now retired on the job and are destined to spend the rest of their Nostr existence playing a rendition of Old Man Shakes Fist at kind 1111 comments.
