The AfD is on the wrong side of history, with their obsession with combustion engines. Even the German automobile industry doesn't want to go back to focusing on combustion engines, as the entire world is electrifying, including the German market.
We want Teslas, not Trabbies.

**There's no shortage of gasoline or diesel in #France.**
Total Energies self-imposed a price cap on them at their stations, so people are all buying from them, and they can't manage to refill the station tanks fast enough to keep up with the rush. So, they run out of their discounted fuel (but not higher forms of refined fuel, as those are sold at market price) for hours at a time until another truck arrives. Although Total is suffering a margin loss per customer, they have attracted so many customers that it has caused their overall profits to rise and is beginning to bankrupt their competition, who are now suing for uncompetitive practices.
The lines at Total stations can go on for kilometers. The rest of Europe remains unaffected. The EU isn't particularly vulnerable to a lack of raw fuel, as its main suppliers are not affected by the Hormuz Strait crisis, but some EU refineries have been running at peak capacity for quite a while and are starting to become strained.
In related news, the EU has accelerated its move to independence from imported fossil fuels (causing budget shortfalls due to the loss in fuel tax revenue), and the sale of electric cars is up 30% in Europe overall, YoY. In anecdotal evidence, I know 4 people who have bought a new car this year, and all of them bought an e-auto.

It's funny to me how wanting to regulate the AI industry is considered government overreach and centralization of power when the US, Chinese, and EU governments (among others) have been actively funding it, arranging the funding for it, changing laws to accomodate and promote it, and directing the development and implementation of it, the whole time.
There is, until now, absolutely no explanation for why any private person should be personally benefitting from the success of these projects, since none of the projects would be viable without everyone tacitly acknowledging that governments are underwriting their debt.
These have always been seen primarily as national security issues, not private science projects. That's why it's not treated as an asset bubble, even though these companies have no path to profitability: everyone knows their governments won't let them fail. Investing in AI is just another form of government asset, but with higher returns. Like investing in defense production.
This is not *Pets.com Part 2*, this is RheinMetall.
Just buy the fucking dip.
I agreed with this because I have spent so much time building up entire event pipelines over different servers, clients, machines, scripts, etc. and each one is completely independent of the other, but the events can get passed around and morphed into the next stage's events or linked with some other set of events.
We used to do this within on gigantic ORACLE database with lots of SQL staging, handoffs, transformations, etc. but on Nostr you just grab events, morph them, spit out new ones, and move on. Somebody or something else then might grab them, or might not, whatever.
Fetch, compute, emit. Fetch, compute, emit. From all over to all over.
Very organic.
