The audience already understood Bitcoin and mining, but was not well versed in Lightning. I adapted my presentation into a document and have been refining it as I have time. So I figured this was a good time to release it and solicit feedback, it's also my first Stacker News article! Happy #SatStackerSunday! What a mempool eh folks? I think Plebnet Noderunnings reached a new ATH for messages sent in a single day! As both heavily involved in the Bitcoin Mining arena as well as Lightning, RecklessApotheosis is crazy excited as well as mildly concerned over the number of transactions being mined every block! We had a slow routing week, only growing by a single channel, but at least we didn't lose any for the second week running! Which, given the painful FC fees people are reporting, we are hugely blessed to have escaped so far! Routing slowed way down, likely due to de-risking by other routing nodes and a reduction in global rebalances, also the reduction in newly opened channels resulted in a reduction of local balancing of new channels. We only routed 65m sats over 515 transactions, but hey, no closures! So I'm counting this as a win! Also we're planning a Plebnet meetup on Thursday the 18th in Miami, more details to follow hopefully! Happy SatStacker...Monday? This weekend was super busy, so this update is a little delayed. We had another great routing week: RecklessApotheosis didn't lose any channels this week and grew by 8! We routed an excellent 107m sats, finally cresting the 1k tx watermark for the first time! We also implemented a local LNDHub instance for our Bitcoin Workshop, as well as upgraded LND to 0.16.2.
