The chat between buyer and seller on Mostro 🧌 runs client to client, end-to-end encrypted, using a shared key both sides generate together through ECDH cryptography. That key is known only to the two of you, not even the Mostro node can read the conversation. Every new trade generates a new key, so privacy holds even if you trade with the same person again. If a dispute opens, either side can choose to share that key with the mediator, who can then decrypt just that one conversation as evidence, nothing more. + info:

🧌 Mostro Node v0.18.7 is out! 🛡️ New payout safety rails: in-flight payouts are now capped per destination and node-wide, so one destination can't tie up the whole node's liquidity. ⏱️ Payout routes now bound their total timelock, not just the last hop, and user payout invoices are capped at 144 blocks instead of 432 — funds stay locked for less time. 🛠️ Operators can cancel pre-trade orders through the CancelOrder gRPC, with a new pretrade_only flag so a cancel never falls through into a dispute cancel by mistake. 🔧 Maintenance mode follow-ups: drain counters now count only in-flight payments, so draining a node actually finishes instead of waiting on already-settled orders. 🐛 Also fixed: admin cancel no longer trips on hold invoices LND already canceled, and the info event now advertises the correct hold window. 📥 GitHub:

Only once this happens can we switch over to the new Lightning node. If you currently have an open order on Mostro, please complete or cancel it so we can resume normal operations as soon as possible. That said, you can continue trading on Mostro, as there are currently 7 other community nodes operating at full capacity. This is yet another demonstration of Mostro’s resilience.
