Zazen meditation could be the Eastern's equivalent of Western's Greek, the epoché
In zazen, by focusing on breathing the rest of the world is put aside, —or "within brackets", as is the epoché usually explained, that is, "to be bracketing" parts of an object, or judgments of an idea with the main goal of reaching a true origin—.
Epoché has been used to adopt a scientific style of researching, whereas zazen has it clear that there's nothing to research and just breathe
