After writing this, I just realized how I start to take the decentralization aspect for granted, and how it is such a strong paradigm shift, compared to monolithic platforms such as Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, where they own the entire stack—user accounts, content storage, moderation tools, and the algorithm that decides what you see. Because all that power sits behind a single corporate gate, a single decision (whether intentional or automated) they can ban your account, erase your posts, or silence an entire community with no recourse, and they change the rules as often as they want. For them our digital identity is essentially a lease that the platform can terminate at any time. And I'm not even talking about data breach! #nostr #wordpress #meta #instagram
