Comparing Bitcoin software & hardware wallets, seed backup solutions, nodes & books: http://thebitcoinhole.com Twitter: @thebitcoinhole
Lots of new features and improvements on our website where we compare more than 30 different hardware wallets. - New wallet details screen with detailed info, official youtube video previews, dropdown to compare the wallet against others, and much more. - Now you can compare wallets 1 vs 1. - Added links to Reddit and Telegram communities (when available) for each wallet. - More helpful info about each important feature of the different hardware wallets. - Data fixes and improvements
Storing your Seed Phrase in a digital document, taking a photo, a screenshot, or storing it in the cloud (like Google Drive, or a Password Manager) exposes it to online threats that could track your keystrokes or gain unauthorized access. Always store your Seed Phrase offline.
Your seed phrase is the key to accessing all your funds. Under no circumstances should you ever share your seed phrase with anyone. Nobody has a valid reason to request your seed phrase. #selfcustody #bitcoin
Improved our "Payment Methods" section on http://thebitcoinhole.com, so you know the different ways to pay for each hardware wallet on the official stores. It's so crazy to see that some manufacturers are NOT accepting Bitcoin to buy their wallets.
You can choose to memorize your seed phrase and discard all backups, believing that this eliminates security threats. Memorizing a seed phrase can be a powerful security tool when traveling across borders, but it also creates a single point of failure: you. #selfcustody #bitcoin
Generate your own entropy When creating your own keys, there are many ways to do it, since we just need a very long random number. One way is to use high-quality dice, like those found in casinos. Roll them several times to create a long random number. #selfcustody
Withdraw all your #Bitcoin    from exchanges or custody services When you have Bitcoin in an exchange or a custody service, they hold control over your Bitcoin. It is only when you withdraw your Bitcoin onto a set of keys that you control that you truly own it. #selfcustody
Let's talk about Reproducible Builds for Hardware Wallets firmware. Verifiable Source wallets let you inspect code for flaws, but pre-compiled software lacks a way to verify if it matches the source. Reproducible builds ensure that anyone can recreate identical copies from source code, build environment, and instructions. That's why is important for all wallet users to learn how to build the firmware and verify it before upgrading their wallets. If not possible for you, at least see if there are proofs of others doing that verification. One good place to find those proofs is This week on Twitter & Nostr @DETERMINISTIC OPTIMISM 🌞 encouraged people to learn how to verify builds. This was a success, a lot of people could learn how to build and verify the Coldcard firmware. From we want to also collaborate. So, we added a new section "Reproducible Builds" on our website. There you can find for each wallet if they offer reproducible builds instructions and if there are proofs of verification on We encourage all the hardware wallet manufacturers (or anyone interested) to collaborate and automate proofs of verifications on According to our research: @Blockstream Jade, Coldcard, @BitBox, @Foundation Passport Batch 2, Trezor, KeepKey, @SeedSigner, and Specter DIY offers reproducible builds instructions and/or proofs of verification. Please help us with a boost. And remember: #LearnToBuild #donttrustverify
Added Bitkey to our website where we compare more than 30 hardware wallets. Still lots of questions about the wallet, so the info is not complete. thebitcoinhole.com
@jack @Thomas We have a website comparing more than 30 hardware wallets (https://thebitcoinhole.com/). We completed the form to test Bitkey, but meanwhile is there any chance to connect with someone of the team that can answer questions about each feature, so we can add Bitkey to our website?
BUG BOUNTY We want to have the most complete and accurate website comparing more than 30 hardware wallets. Our goal is to help you to choose which of them to buy. So, we are offering 1000 sats to each person that finds an error on our website. More details here:
