For the last two-ish weeks, I've been building a frankenstein kubernetes raspberry pi cluster from old pi's I had laying around, sd cards, USB drives, and an old SSD. I have it deploying all the initial setup with ansible and then deployment of services via GitOps with Flux CD, Longhorn distributed storage, Traefik reverse proxy with HTTPS, and so on. I am so incredibly geeked, I can't even tell y'all. Claude has been a massive help but I'm also walking the line to make sure to not let it do too much so I am not learning. Way too much fun!
Landman started off as such a great show. Becoming quite gay now, though.
Trying to plan our next family vacation. Anyone been to San Diego lately? How bad is the homeless problem?
“More = better” is such a fiat mindset. “More, but faster = even better” is hyper fiat thinking.
My 8 month old baby is obsessed with shoes. If you leave your shoes out, she will rush to them and play with them. Was cute at first. After several weeks? Not so much 😅
I’m of the opinion that the majority of the tech layoffs of the last few years are not because of AI, but because the tech industry (and tech teams at other large companies) were filled with bullshit jobs that didn’t actually produce anything. Generally, I’ve seen a ratio of roughly 2:1 of bullshit roles vs people actually producing. And I say that as someone who has been on both sides of that. In one place (massive insurance co) the ratio was closer to 10:1.
