Not gonna lie, I’m disappointed in how Alby responded regarding this password reset “incident”.
I think deflecting blame to public breaches is a very risky move when others have clearly shown that email addresses are being leaked by your service.
But, I’ll say from experience, incident response is hard. Like, really hard.
Guys, getting a password reset email en masse doesn’t mean a service was breached or even under attack. It could be a system error.
It’s happened before and it will happen again.
Not to say they aren’t under attack, but don’t act hastily.
I find TypeScript to be very obnoxius.
That's it. That's the note.
AI bros: “OpenAI is going to build super intelligence!!”
Meanwhile, OpenAI running ads during major sports events: “You should use our AI to like, plan a roadtrip or something 😅”
🤨
Freedom and tyranny are in a constant cat and mouse game.
The internet initially created an incredible opportunity for freedom like never before. That’s why the tyrants are now wielding it as a weapon against us.
Freedom tech is the second iteration of the internet, this time with code enforced rules that guarantee freedom, not just suggest it.
Software companies write insecure code. Robotics companies are no exception.
But yes, go ahead and bring one into your home. I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Fiat tech companies have the highest time preference possible. They’re always trying to get everything done immediately.
I can’t wait to see the kind of tech made by hard money tech companies.
When a tech bro says something is a decade away, this is what he really means:
“It’s not currently possible. Hopefully we get lucky sometime in the next ten years and discover something that makes it possible”
Also, ten years is the longest time horizon they’re capable of thinking about.
I often think about how miraculous Satoshi and Bitcoin are.
The fact that he built a system that works so well AND managed to stay completely anonymous is truly remarkable.
I don’t think I enough people appreciate that. Thank God for Satoshi.
All of Peter Thiels cronies are going on huge podcasts to tell you that the surveillance state is actually a good thing. Yuck.
The good news is, if Oracle builds the Digital ID system, it will definitely be vulnerable and leave open the possibility of the return of hacktivism 😄
Accepted an offer for a new fiat job 😀 there’s also a chance I get to do some bitcoin oriented stuff, so I’m extra pumped.
