One of the main reasons I want to escape the fiat mines is to study more. I feel so cheated by my public school education. I know very little about history. That which I do know is certainly slanted towards what they want me to know, not what actually happened. Or even just rounded out by different opinions. But with work, family, social life, and trying to build something outside of that, it's nearly impossible to find time for any meaningful study that doesn't go towards escape.

This was a really interesting read. MS cancelling several very large capacity data centers and seems to be distancing itself from OAI. The one thing I don't think he addressed is potential efficiency gains from LLM models, but I'm not sure if they're enough for this dramatic of a pullback. Softbank's yolo'ing into these investments feels very sketchy to me, and could lead to a huge cascade affect if it doesn't go well.

I’ve grown very tired of working fiat jobs. Recently left a job I loved because things got very chaotic, got a new job and it’s not been going great. I’m trying to think about how to pivot to focusing on more freedom tech. I’m an ok coder but working on improving. I want to explore building stuff on/for nostr, but I think I may also use my security knowledge to make contributions/find vulnerabilities. Is anyone else here on nostr who does similar? I’m thinking of starting with apps that can be run by @Start9, just because I think it’s such a cool project. #asknostr
