If you find institutions aligned with you, partner with them to help the work go faster. Grants are not contracts. Besides some basic rules to prevent misuse of funds, they are no-strings attached money. You have to propose the idea and the work plan. You sell them your idea and why it aligns with their goals as a non-profit. For everyone who has been against OpenSats funding devs, are those same people saying they disagree with the ideals of OpenSats? Does anyone have any evidence they are not living up their promise? Straight from their website: "We believe that free and open-source software in general, and bitcoin in particular, is essential to the future of the internet and the world. We don't want any one person to have control over funding decisions, so we created a transparent, public-facing, and accountable nine-person board to make all organizational decisions.
