Out of this number : • 116 have a Twitter(X) account • 105 have a Telegram account • 78 have a Nostr account ...and... • 193 (52%) doesn't have any contact information at all - at least I couldn't find it. The ongoing onchain storm has forced me to significantly increase fees on all channels of my node. Please don't worry, this is temporary. My fees policy will return to normal soon.

If your node starts to accumulate pending HTLC's rapidly, channels get disabled and eventually the node stops working, try stopping or restarting the Circuitbreaker if you are using it. Everything will be fixed instantly. Already a dozen cases, including in low-load environment.

Sorry guys, there is some instability of my Node these days. Intermittent network issues. Will be back to normal operation ASAP. A few tips to prevent FCs with online nodes due to HTLC expiration if you are LND. 1️⃣ Update your client to the version 0.16.2 ASAP if you haven't done it already! 2️⃣ You can restart LND a few blocks before HTLC expiration. Very often immediately after that the problem HTLC is resolved. In order to speed up the restart, you can temporary disable DB compacting by modifying the following string in the [bolt] section of your lnd.conf file: db.bolt.auto-compact=false This is absolutely safe, but speeds up restarting process significantly (up to few minutes or even less). You can restart LND more often and without any harm. Then, when the dust settles, this value should be returned back to "true".

No FCs tonight. Great morning! 😊 By the way, restarting the node a few blocks before the HTLC expiration helped prevent two FCs already. Two channels were saved in this way. There are many more cases where even this did not help, but... Slightly changed fee policy. Adapting to the new conditions and looking for a balance between traffic and risks. When the dust settles, I will return to the role of an almost-free router : )

] Nevertheless even with this, I still have few more FCs, that happened when both nodes were ok and online, and my peer and I just sat together and looked at the expiring HTLC block-by-block, not being able to do anything. Tried many things. Examining the logs. Will try to provide more details soon. Some of node operators prefer to set fee walls to avoid any HTLCs these days (use rejecthtlc=true in lnd.conf if you are LND instead!). We've lived through a lot, will survive this as well.

Absolutely devastating FCs nowadays. Several FCs can eat up all the income accumulated for long term. It seems that right now you are not getting paid for routing, you pay for it youself instead : ) Please, keep your node updated to the latest version, online and stable as much as possible. Although practice shows that this is not enough and the good channel can be FCed even if both nodes are online and ok. Feeling upset...

I've set 0/0 fee for all my peers (except few big vampires) and my node drowned in traffic, which led to some halts. The node is stable again right now. I'm continuing my experiments, uncovering the breaking points, watching how node operates under extreme pressure, collecting relevant data : ) Sorry, guys, for instability of the node lately. I'm being very careful not to cause FC's from my side. Rebalancing is going to be less aggressive these days as well.

Interesting fact. If I set fee = 1ppm for all my channels with 0ppm fee (i.e. increase it by 1), there's more than two times decrease in traffic with these channels. Obviously, people in the #LightningNetwork strongly prefer completely free transactions : ) I advise all node operators to try set up 0ppm fee for all channels (except, of course, channels with sinking nodes!), even if only for one day. This can be an interesting experiment that will significantly increase your traffic (even without income) and clearly demonstrate the directions of the sats flows in the network. I think, it can give you a lot of interesting information.
