Poverty mindset. Man have I been struggling lately with this. I've been working on it for years but recently I've been slipping backwards with my mindset. Today after listening to Toolman Tim's podcast of his presentation at LFTN I got a call from a loved one who had finally got some amazing traction on her business and instead of being jealous I almost broke down crying tears of joy for her because she has worked so hard for it. Listening to her gave me hope and reminded me that I just need to continue to move forward. Last summer our border collie/ Aussie was bit by a Mojave Diamondback Rattlesnake just outside of Quartzsite, AZ. He was bit twice, one was a dry bite and the other was a wet bite, both were on his paws, one front paw and the other a back paw. I was able to get him to the vet (who was amazing) within a half hour from the time he was bitten, antivenom works best if administered within a half hour of the bite. They kept him overnight and released him to us the the next day, they only had to give him one dose of antivenom. But told us he definitely was not out of the woods as the next week or so would determine how his paws were going to heal and if he'd need to have his paw that received the wet bite amputated. We took him home and I put together a mixture of herbs, lavender, cleavers, calendula, and a tiny bit of comfrey and mixed them with some Manuka honey and applied it to his bites to help draw out and heal his wounds. I used several references to come up with this mixture of herbs including a book called The Complete Herbal Handbook for Dog and Cat by Juliette De Bairacli Levy. The book is incredible and has so much information about using herbs on pets. The book is old and not in print anymore and Miss Juliette has passed from old age many years ago but I keep her books on hand for these emergencies. Oh and after two day we went back to the vet amd he was very happy with his healing and told us to keep doing what we were doing and that he was healing so well that he had no concerns about amputation. #grownostr #herbalremedies #herbs #dogstr #dogsofnostr #dogslife

Just saw our first tarantula hawk of the season, I know they just ignore us but damn if that things is not scary looking. Here's a picture of a nest that we found last year. The wasp paralized the tarantula and takes it back into the tarantula's nest, deposited it's eggs on the tarantula and then the wasp larvae eat the tarantula turn into a wasp and fly away... #grownostr #bugs #southwestliving #creepy
