Sending web links via email is a practice we should consider deprecating once and for all.
Perhaps when AI models start routinely using/abusing links for phishing, we'll see email software modified to reject URLs and!/or stop displaying them as clickable hyperlinks.
Today I received some road safety advice from a driver(*), delivered with a touch of passive aggression: “Look and see.” 😁

I used an LLM (I call it Marvin 😁) to quickly improve some of the documents I work on.
Marvin does a remarkable job with simple documents, to an extent that I feel I'm giving directions to a junior colleague: I open a new chat, talk about the scope of the document, give and/or ask for data, then ask Marvin to write an exec summary, perhaps specific assumptions or caveats. Marvin suggests different versions: a formal response, a more concise one, one that sounds more legal.
My company wouldn’t hire someone to do this, so I don’t feel Marvin is taking a human’s job. I provide the information, then judge whether it’s fit for purpose or needs amending. Will it take my job one day? Who knows. For now, though, I still build better rapport with customers than Marvin would.
Toying with a small #network idea where new nodes in separate locations would self register their npub on DNS, ideally trigger a certificate generation by a private CA.
I imagine something like:
1. New node comes with nsec, npub. 2. Registers npub A record (also last 6 digits of npub, too) on "domain(.) com" DNS zone.
3. Maybe some SRV records to facilitate service discovery.
4. Other (known) nodes find the new node, wg to it, cool stuff happens.
5. Profit (joking).
There will be a couple of name resolvers that nodes will use to locate other nodes and services.
What I'm not sure about is what software I could use to update DNS records. Wishlist: lightweight, maybe container based. Bonus: standard API.
Has anybody approached this use case? How did you solve it? Software recommendations?
Nodes needn't know about Nostr, but this could be used in the backend. I'd like the frontend to be DNS, to minimise friction on devices that can't be *taught* Nostr. #asknostr

Maybe cut down on watching those channels, instead find smaller ones and contribute to (#v4v) regularly? Obviously the algos won't easily suggest these.. 🤔
