Mostly Bitcoin Only. My stuff is TLDR on purpose so you can pick/choose what you want. Bitcoin Store of Value first but then MoE, least friction. Open Source is King. Filters are not Censorship. Bitcoin is Time (Gigi). Timechain. Ocean. Bitcoin Knots. I am a 35 year BI Developer using a competing product of Microstrategy but now am a MSTR /Saylor supporter. Non-Partisan. npub1mp77smkmq77zwp3d8ke2let567cype0m3lhwx7v97gu2fans40qsn7vzdd
Sad to see this gem on Anna Maria Island is gone. Great vacation memories. image
How is it possible to even begin to thank Satoshi for his gift to the world? How would you measure the positive impact of Bitcoin? What metrics? What graphs could you show if you collected all the data points you need with the billions of rows of data ? It's way more than a God Candle with Godzilla screeching and fire breathing as the NGU. Bitcoin is a mind blowing, life altering, positive human battery charging , energized gift that helps with people's Physical, mental, and financial well being. Human Being. On Earth. p.s. - I didn't say Spiritual on purpose because that is stupid. (Bitcoiners: some of the most opinionated MoFos on the planet.)
"Unprecedented" Disclaimer: BI Data Guy for 35 years in Corporate America (using a competing product to MSTR) and 27 year Cancer Patient advocate using my basic formula I learned in my profession: Data to Info to Knowledge to Power. (Our world is 'Data Rich, Information Poor') and I AM A HACK. Begin of my TLDR: The title is my least favorite overused word, in the world right now. Runner up is "journey." We are so arrogant as a human species, just like we were 100 years ago when we thought we knew it all. 'Recorded history' is really about 150 years, that is such a small timeframe when the earth is 4.5 billion years old. Now, with 200 channels and billions online vying for our attention, everything is 'unprecedented.' The definition is: "Never done or known before." Really? We used to use 1 in a 100 year storm, but Milton they are now saying 1 in a 1000 years. How did you get to a 1000? That is such a round number. Yet, here we are, as arrogant as ever, where we think we wield more power than Mother Nature and somehow 'we' are causing all these disasters? Seriously? Oddly enough, to see how old the earth is, they use 'carbon dating' and experts say we have been through at least 5 ice ages. Some say we are in an ice age right now since there is ice on the North and South poles, albeit melting at an 'unprecedented' pace. Really? How about when the sun cooled slightly 700 million years ago and Earth was covered in ice, which lasted 57 million years? How about 7000 years ago there was no ice or glaciers at both poles? I am no expert on Climate Change, but after working in Corporate America, I have zero confidence we humans could figure it out anyway. Why? Project Managers. There is no one solution to Climate Change, it is about 150,000 solutions with each one needed to be headed up by a human. A human, the same ones who have ruined our lives with wars and financial decay. Each project's outcome, if mismanaged, could do more HARM to our earth. Come on people, think of the faces of the PMs you have worked with at Corporate or the very best leaders you know? But regardless, I know I am 60 percent water, I live in a dreadful climate (Minneapolis) 6 months out of the year where I know I am solar powered and need to go South for the sun/Vitamin D. I like warm versus cold. I am stopping here without a dramatic click bait ending, but I just want all you 'experts' out there on both sides to 'consider' you don't have a clue on mostly everything you think you know as fact. Admit you are a hack like me? Learn everyday. Embrace the chaos. Not everyone is unprecedented or as big an influencer, maybe we humans as a collective whole are the least influential on what happens to Earth now and in the future? image p.s. Bitcoin is unique and unprecedented
In researching today's "Electric Money" journal articles I thought this was interesting. Maybe there needs to be a place to not censor articles an publications, anyone? For instance: image But click on it and OOPS Iraq? image
"HBOMax's Bitcoin Ratings/Money Grab tonight 9PM EST." I really hope people stop trying to figure out who Satoshi is or was, his expertise on his Privacy so far is as legendary as his code. "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery will be released on HBO on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. ET and Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 1 a.m. UTC. The documentary will be instantly available to stream on HBOMax." Also, the "Electric Dollar" replacing Gold was from Dr. John Pease Morton in the 'Youngstown Vindicator' on December 27, 1932 image Never mind the Ford guy over 100 years ago: (Note the year and "Library of Congress" and the reference to stopping wars) image Satoshi made Ford/Morton's visions of "Money Electric" a reality, ignored then and pretty much now too. Shocking but never tell a Bitcoiner they were 'lucky' when there is almost 16 years worth of analysis on "Why Bitcoin" out there, millions of hours worth of analysis...for free, no need to buy a subscription to HBO, waste of sats or waste of your electric money. Great post, and the biggest thing to me: 1) Your savings, your asset, is the bank's LIABILITY 2) Your Loan, your liability, is the bank's ASSET ....Bitcoins is a SAVINGS vehicle Only two dots to connect here.
NOSTR gunna lie, I do love this platform. It feels like online home.
Super Random: "The word Alphabet" Today I learned this, "alphabet comes from the first two letters of the Greek Alphabet: Alpha and Beta" image But if you are a developer who has worked with crappy specs from crappy Business Analysts for decades, I say, Huh? How would you code that? The Greek words are ALPHA and BETA so isn't it the first 5 Letters of the Greek word for 'A' and the first 3 letters in the Greek word for 'B'? This is the kind of stuff that keeps me awake at night, it works if you are using Hebrew but the definitions are using Greek? What am I missing Business Analysts gathering coding requirements for the beloved customers? image
I think it is hilarious "The Street" people are asking Saylor if he would put Ethereum on the Microstrategy Balance sheets. Be at least aware of who 'founded' your company. Founder: "The Street" - James Cramer "Bitcoin Magazine" - Vitalik Buterin "Microstrategy" - Michael Saylor image
I think in code, IF THEN ELSE. IF <Bitcoin> EQ <for people> THEN.... - Why does the place on Earth with the most people not buy it? - Why does "Bitcoin Magazine" host a "Bitcoin Asia" event full of Ordinals and Altcoins (listen to Jack Lee) I am tired of America leading and then being the punching bag for people complaining about US(A). Your not getting into Bitcoin, that's on you. Your not taking the time to understand Bitcoin, that's on you. No Excuses. Especially the tired ones: - Your government/Politicians - I don't have any money to save - It's too risky, uses too much energy, blah..blah..blah Grow a pair. Act. Be dynamic not static for this one opportunity. Or not..but if you choose the latter, you can only point the fingers at yourself. You. Own it. image
"UnBank you Very Much" Yesterday I walked into a US Bank branch because I wanted someone to verify something that is completely unclear. Never mind the 'Make an Appointment' button went to a dead link online with my desktop and confirmed on my cellphone app (same site.) The situation: Our daughter is in France for 2 years and because of French law/rules/regulations, she has to have a French Bank Account in order for her to function over there. So she can get a French phone, deal with locals/cash for housing and some food. (People like cash everywhere, hmmmm.) Regardless, I simply need to move money, transfer from our US Bank Account to hers or from her US Bank account to the French account. I explained this to the US Bank employee and she confirmed what I already knew without attaching the price (not clear anywhere on their site.) US Bank: "In order to do this, you have to do a wire transfer." Me: "That is the only way? I need this to be ongoing for two years, sporadically but probably frequently." US Bank: "Yes, the only way." Me: "How much is each transfer?" US Bank: "$50" Me: "$50, regardless of denomination?" US Bank: "Yes." Me: "That's ridiculous...(me turning my back and walking out with the still unresolved issue.)" From a previous note, I can't us Strike (they require my daughter bring in a utility bill with her name on it for part of the KYC process.) Does anyone know if Venmo or PayPal or CashApp or any other 'mainstream' POS Fiat based online system can beat the 1950s Bank technology with a US to France simple transaction? Bathtub Section of Extraneous I am showing you how there are 6-7 hops in a Venmo transaction. ====== While he was in front of Congress (2020) to Brian Brooks, one of my favorite Bitcoin voices. Brooks gets drowned out online by Bitcoin Maxis sometimes because he talks about Web3/Blockchain but he is freakin' smart and his Bitcoin analysis is incredible. I am going to repost more on him later. For now, when Binance's nuts were in the vice, the Binance filing, Sam explains the previous two CEOs at Binance to CZ (Slea-Zy), known as Hostile CEO A and Hostile CEO B CEO A is: Catherine Coley who is presumably still missing. CEO B is: Brian Brooks (Former Head of Crypto for Trump/CEO of Bitfury) Mr. Kustoff: (03:31:56) Thank you, Ms. Haas. Mr. Brooks, if I could, to you, thank you also for being here. If I could, I think obviously there are people who believe that cryptocurrency is difficult, maybe even impossible to track. Can you talk about that as it relates to the blockchain? And we talk about illicit activities, alleged illicit activities, oftentimes will be investigated by federal authorities. Could you explain maybe the fallacy in that as if you were talking to our local police chiefs or local sheriffs? Mr. Brooks: (03:32:37) Sure. Well, thank you for the question, Mr. Kustoff. I actually do this talk at local rotary clubs and things around the country all the time. So I think I can do that pretty well. I think the easiest way to understand it is let’s contrast blockchain transactions with normal banking transactions to see how much easier it is to trace them on a blockchain than it is in a banking transaction. So let’s imagine for a moment that… I would never do this because this would be flagrantly illegal, but let’s say I bought you lunch. Okay? And let’s say that afterwards you wanted to Venmo me your payment back, right? So you hit your Venmo button on your iPhone and you sent me money. What many people don’t understand is that there’s seven or eight different steps in the Venmo transaction. So all Venmo does is send an instruction to your bank. Your bank then receives that instruction, they write it down in their books and records, and then they then send an instruction to an underlying transfer network. It could be the automated clearing house, it could be the Fedwire system or something else. That system then contacts my bank. It inquires whether my bank has enough money to pay you. Once that’s been done, then there’s a debit from my account. It’s very complicated. And in any one of those steps, information could be lost. There could be a breach, something bad could happen. Versus in a blockchain, there are no intermediaries. I’m not sending instructions to a third party to send instructions to another third party, to eventually send you money. I’ve sent you money. And when the block is validated, I can see that my wallet address transferred that value to your wallet address, simple as that. The easiest way for people to understand how easy this is, because we’ve had a lot of talk of hacking and cyber security issues, the reason that we found the bad guys in the Colonial Pipeline hack, was because they asked for Bitcoin. If they had asked for diamonds, if they had asked for cash, if they’d asked for almost any other thing, we’d never have caught the bad guys. We caught the bad guys because, not in spite of, because they used Bitcoin and we could tell exactly where the money went.
Second attempt: "How to get money from US Bank to a French Bank" Situation: Daughter over in France for DEUX (2) years. She has to setup a bank account in order to function over there, cell phones etc. She is going to Uni (college) and she is as poor as I was at her age. So, my wife and I are helping her out so she doesn't have to start out in the world following the lead of our US Politicians and broke ass government. The options are terrible. The best was to use Strike via the LN, easy right? Nope, here is why, part of the KYC is you have to bring in an electric Bill with your name on it. Hard to do when you are in temporary housing in a foreign country being a broke ass Visa tethered/monitored American citizen just trying to pay too much to be educated and a productive member of the world. So, what......<me losing interest like all of you>
Justin Bechler just got me into thinking we need to find theme songs for the other Altcoins. For ETH: Aha (Shittyfluted) For ADA: (Beach Boys Shred) For Trump's new coin, "Richard Cheese: Lounge Against the Machine"
Public Thank you Letter to Abigail Johnson Dear Abby, This is a thank you note, written from my heart, grateful for my financial health, thanks in part to you. I will focus on one aspect, my "Health SAVINGS Account" (HSA) Without planning, 2.5 years ago, I hung up my soul sucking existence with FIAT. I couldn't take it any longer, 35 years, awful. I had the same worries, kid in college, would we have 'enough' money to make it. Regardless, I took the leap, but one of those bullet points of worry was my HSA. I maxed out as much as I could for so many years. The Max, I don't even recall what the amount is, but it was a worry. If I 'quit.' I looked at where my HSA was and where it had been, making such crappy returns all those years but I had hope. The hope was thanks to you, your being the CEO of Fidelity. I moved from some unknown HSA third party custodian who probably knew the empty-headed-finger-gun-pointing-'there he is'-CEO I worked 'for.' Sure, you are worth Billions, thanks to your well known family history, but you are a true leader. One of the best compliments I have heard was from a former employee of yours who said when it came to Bitcoin, "it was a top down" approach. Where the CEO, (you were mentioned by name), was the one explaining the benefits of Bitcoin 'down' to your employees. That is the difference, 99% of the other companies, nations, the employees, the company drones, are trying to get the Queen Bee's attention but it is so nice when the Queen gets it first and then educates and helps the drones get to their financial independence. Financial independence is something you have always had but obviously don't take for granted. Selfless. So, back to my HSA, I pulled every penny out of it this year to transfer it to your Fidelity HSA and it literally took 3 clicks and someone at Fidelity worked with me via a 'telephone.' I didn't even initiate the call, via some Comcraptic-phone-tree-into-Xfinity-Hell or dialing 15 ATT 'customer service' lines that all end up at the 'Thanks for calling ATT Adding New Products' line The thank you is, after years of suffering FIAT Financial Abuse via banks and companies and Edward Jones, where I have worked for and paid for via their customer or empluyee services, thanks for Fidelity. Thanks for your true leadership, as I have been able to, simply with my HSA, been able to truly SAVE for my medical insurance future into Bitcoin based products thanks to your vision without any ceiling for a maximum amount I can save per year. Wow. Financial Healing, best therapy ever. Thank you Abigail. image Sign Me, -BR
Did someone at Primal piss off Jack? The worry I always have is often developers are busting their ass coding under duress (FIAT time pressure) and many have shitty people skills. Then they bite the hand that feeds them and the hand stops feeding them. I worry about Open Source Development, plumbers, doctors, teachers don't work for free. I like Primal, it has never been slow, sure it needs work but it's cooler than Twitter 1.0 already. My uncle: "Fuckem' and feedem' rice. If they complain, take away the rice."
Over 1000 bottles of lube found in Diddy's homes, I never knew he was a Crypto Altcoiner.
