A sailor that enjoys sharing a life at sea 🌊
Nice run up the coast yesterday in a 15-25kt southeasterly. Made good time but the seas were pretty sloppy which meant there was plenty of saltwater being thrown around 😁 image
It’s that time again where we stay humble and work with Mother Nature to see when the best time to sail north is. One thing about living upon the ocean is that there’s one true boss out here and it ain’t you or I it’s Mother Nature and the weather. It determines where you go and when you go and how easy that passage will be. For sure you can argue and think you know better but she’ll soon put you in your place and teach you the hard lesson of being patient, not rushing and slowing down. image
Waking up to a misty morning onboard today. Everyday is a gift when you’re surrounded by nature ❤️
More simple and abundant magic thanks to Mother Nature here for all to enjoy. No license required, no ticket to buy, no door to enter and no one to stop you… get outside it’s the best medicine there is Fresh Air and Sunshine ❤️ 🌊 ⛵️🏝️🌏 image
One of the greatest gifts I had as a child is something I didn’t see or realise until later life. As a child I didn’t even know I was learning something and to me those are the best lessons. The ones you don’t see until you have reached a different perspective. As a kid I would sit on the bow of our boat as we cruised up and down the coast and I’d be mesmerised by the sea and waves. I could sit and stare at them all day long. And while doing this I would be so happy and content without a want or care in the world. Later on I came to understand that I was living fully within that present moment and that’s why I had no wants or desires. I was in the here and now. Those moments were like a flash of meditation a flash of being in the now. As I grew older those moments in time grew dim and were clouded over by wants and desires yet I always knew there was a place inside me that was content with just sitting on the bow of a boat and staring into the waves. I knew that I didn’t need anything to be happy as I’d experienced those moments of happiness and fulfilment and contentment as a kid, I knew they existed for free inside me. Later in life I was working hard earning big dollars yet there was a void and an emptiness inside me that felt strange and out of place. I was searching and looking for those old moments of peace and contentment yet I was looking for them in material things. I’ll just buy that home with the view, that flash car or that holiday and find that happiness again. For a few years I had to dig deep and to look inward at what I was chasing and why I was chasing it. Thankfully I knew it existed I just needed to find the courage to sell everything and to live the life I’d dreamt of as a kid free upon the sea. So that’s what I did. I sold it all the car the home and land and bought a small beat up old boat, which I then rebuilt and sailed halfway around the world. That decision and those experiences have lead us to today. To a place where we live simply so we have the time and space to see all the beauty that surrounds us. We’ve opted out of the system. We make our own power, our own water and maintain all the systems that are onboard. We use the wind to sail from place to place and the ocean as our road. We are as far away from the system we don’t align with as we possibly can be. We have no bank accounts, have never voted and never want to be a part of what enables so much pain around the world. Bitcoin is the part that has now really enabled us to disconnect. It’s enabled us to own our time and energy in a form that can’t be debased and that can’t be censored or corrupted and like living on a boat it’s bound by proof of work, out here nothing is for free! Stay humble, stack sats and create your world don’t wait for others to create it. Do it here and do it now and do it for yourself as NO one is coming to your rescue. The recipe for a good life doesn’t get any easier. Thank you Satoshi 🙏 image

The one thing that annoys me about Bitcoin companies is how the leaders of these “Bitcoin only” companies get on podcasts and speak about how good their customer support is yet when you go and try and contact their customer support you get zero help and response! Looking at you @strike and @jack mallers I’ve sent a heap of people your way and they’re having trouble buying Bitcoin using Strike and they’re getting no help to resolve these issues. If we want normies to buy and to get into Bitcoin we need to do better!
In the video below we’re laying up some carbon on the P-bracket that supports the propeller shaft. The last few weeks have been hard. Twelve hour days grinding and sanding, fibreglassing and repairing this old girl to bring her back to life and revitalise her isn’t easy. But everything worth having in life is never easy. It’s these moments and these times that make the good times even better. I know in six months time we’ll be enjoying a sunset and looking back on these days with fondly or at least I hope so! 😁⛵️
When people tell us we’re lucky to live a simple and easy lifestyle on a boat it reminds me of people that say you were lucky to get into Bitcoin early! There is no luck we all make our own luck it’s called “proof of work” and below is a video of the “proof of work” that provides us with this lifestyle. We’re presently doing a three month refit of the boat to bring her back to life so she can continue to safely carrying us around the world’s oceans for years to come. Nothing in life is free never forget this. They are the laws of nature, play by them and you’ll have a far more rewarding life.
What’s it like living on a boat? It’s definitely not for everyone. Life here is very free but with that freedom comes a lot of compromises. For one we don’t have endless electricity or water. We have to make our own using solar panels and a water maker or desalinator. This is good as on one hand you become very aware of power usage and being efficient and this also applies for water production and usage. To save water we use some of the world’s most efficient showerheads and also have a similar attachment for the end of our taps. These fittings aerate the water and make it feel as though you’re using more water after when in fact you’re using around .625 or 2lts per minute, which compared to the normal 10lt per minute shower head save you a lot of water. These small efficiencies are what we aim for when living on a boat as it’s all about using less while trying to do more. It’s why we love #Bitcoin as it’s also about freedom and being efficient with the storage of your time and energy. It’s also about where to focus that time and energy, how to spend it and how to use it. In the end it all comes down to Proof Of Work. If you’d like to know more about the fittings we use they’re made by a company in the US called Bricor. www.bricor.com
After seven days at sea and 1300nm of sailing we’re 60nm ENE of Vava’u Tonga. Got 20-25’s off the stern and this old girl is surfing waves like a pro at pipeline! There’s nothing like crossing oceans on a performance sailing ⛵️ boat. It’s incredibly rewarding, it’s proof of work with salt added. This is the view off the back porch!
My wife @Clo and I bought this boat (which is now our home we own nothing else) six months ago in Costa Rica. She was broken having been abused and not looked after for many years by her previous caretakers/owners. There had been zero maintenance done and she was near her death bed. We knew she had another life left in her and we knew we could bring her back to life. It was going to take a lot of hard work or proof of work on our part but having done it before we knew we were up for the challenge and that the rewards at the end of it would far outweigh the sacrifice of 12hr days 7 days a week for the following six months. This is why we love this lifestyle and Bitcoin they run on the same ethos. You get out of it what you put into it. Nothing is free in life and that’s how it should be. Reward shouldn’t be given it should be earn’t and in that way you live a life that’s far more rewarding and that’s filled with gratitude 🙏 This is the reward we are now enjoying. Work hard people, take care of those you love and your health. Work to be the best person you can. Surround yourself with people that make you a better person, stack sats and your life will be filled with hope and the rewards will flow!
Pacific crossing update. Panama - Marquesas Islands. Coming up to day seven at sea. Just sailed through the Galápagos Islands and heading west south west. 1100nm down only 3000 to go! Life’s pretty simple out here being surrounded by the sea. It’s just sunrises and sunsets. My wife comes on watch around 5pm I sleep till 2am and then we swap and I’m on watch again till 5pm. Works great for us and we enjoy doing these passages just two up. We had around twenty small squid land on the deck the other morning early as they get scared from the boat at night and jump out of the water. Unfortunately for them but fortunately for us they sometimes land on the deck. I go around in the morning and pick them up then my wife’s cooks them up making a delicious and fresh meal out of them!! Mother Nature can be incredibly generous. Here’s a few pics from the last few days at sea. #nostr #sailing #ocean #simplelife #bitcoin
Another spectacular day waking up upon the worlds oceans #sailing image
Been a long slog these past five months getting this boat ready but we’re ready and the last two nights we’ve spent away from marinas and out on anchor. Life’s bliss when you move away from the crowds and surround yourself with nature! #boatstr #nostr #sailing image
What's it like to live on and own a yacht? It's like producing Bitcoin it requires a lot of proof of work to be successful. We're presently getting ready to cross the Pacific in April. The past five months have been hectic. we've removed mould, cleaned bildges, rewired the 24v system, change engine exhaust, fitted watermakers and inverters along with fitting a solar system that we hope will provide all our power as we sail weather towards Auatralia.
