Are people surnamed Armstrong genetically predisposed to having strong arms?
As a community, Bitcoiners are quick and hold no prisoners when it comes to challenging erroneous data and we’ve all seen the challenges to mainstream media and politicians who use questionable data to present supposed “facts” about Bitcoin. I’m putting out a challenge. The reward is not a bounty in sats but a chance to show integrity. I challenge Swan Media, James Seyffart from Bloomberg Media, Walker, Treasuriesnet and any others who have shared the chart that states that a government entity, in this case the ccp, holds 190,000 BTC. You all verified that chart’s assertions before you shared it right? If it was Elizabeth Warren sharing it you would also have trusted without questioning? Did James Seyffart who is being so closely followed and trusted to relay quality data and opinion on bitcoin involved in the spot ETFs in the USA, affiliated with Bloomberg Media, verify that 190,000 BTC are being held by ccp before he said on twitter “This is an awesome image for data nerds”? I will share again the two articles that were published by OXT Research. The first from January 13th, 2020 and the second from March 10th 2020. I do not present them as conclusive “fact” merely as a stepping stone, for those who haven’t seen it before, to be able to start questioning the narrative about those coins. https://oxtresearch.com/plustoken/ https://oxtresearch.com/plustoken-impact-update/ Again I will state that I am not claiming that the figure of 190,000 BTC being held by that government entity is categorically wrong. I am seeking to have those that shared it, prove it. I’ll add that in early 2020 many involved in the space in China and Hong Kong were of the opinion that those coin were fairly quickly sold by the authorities using, most likely, Huobi and OkEx. Speculation! I welcome sound data that would back up the chart’s claim. DON’T TRUST, VERIFY. I welcome anyone who uses twitter to use this note to link/copy/post/tag the needed relevant parties. I also hope you might repost this note on nostr. I won’t tag any “influential” profiles on nostr as I believe our community must be able to discuss, disseminate and communicate without the need for a bigger account to be involved in order for a note or idea to gain traction.
Ok.....I'm just going to keep reposting that note until it gets seen by some one who is willing interact and provide evidence that proves the validity of that chart. DON'T TRUST, VERIFY
No one going to challenge this data?Just trust and don't verify?Swan media sharing the chart and Bloomberg intelligence happy to quote and not one person questioning the validity of the ccp "government entity" holding 190,000 BTC? I'm not claiming it's invalid, I'm questioning what that figure of 190,000 BTC is based on.
Adding to the discussion about what IP/data is associated with your nostr posts it shouldn't come as a surprise that, really, that's how the internet works. We can observe good security hygiene to try and minimise what about us is "leaked" but ultimately there isn't any privacy online really so we should be aware of what, where and how we use it. Given that a fair amount of IP/metadata is inevitably available to clients and relays, a question I have asked before has been what clients and relays could potentially be doing with that data. Hosting relays and providing clients costs $ so there must be a possibility of a temptation to monetise that data. I'm not saying it's happening but how would we know? I'm sure most of us know that data is a valuable asset. 🤔 How can we "don't trust, verify" that?
Check out the user post from January 10th 2023. Easy to scroll because he only has a few posts. It still works. You are seeing your own IP/data. It isn't doxxing you to others only to yourself. If you change your VPN server it will reflect in the IP address dynamically. @npub1hrc0...648j
Hope this link to the note works. This is from last January and it freaked a lot of us out. The screen data/IP that each user would see on that note were the data from the user looking at the note, if that makes sense. So everyone was looking at a different load of data which was their own. I think it is still working and you can see what your own IP and data is showing up in real time. If you have a VPN you can switch server and then look at the note again and it will reflect the change. note1wvuglltdtal0f4rnq4lgxk9v2f0nrwmfyga3nw0khz2nuwkgwajqdzh957
Snort seems to be keeping out the reposts from my notifications.🤙
