Spent the day removing all the debris from the river and cutting up a fallen tree that was blocking water flow after yesterday's cyclone. Needed to have a chill evening so decided to watch a film. I'd got "The House that Jack Built" a while ago and somehow remembered it was a no-brain laugh comedy.

Seeing the Central Bank of Mauritius with waterfalls of water flowing through the middle of their building makes me wonder "I hope they kept their hard wallet and private key safe!"๐๐
We have been put under curfew and no one is permitted to leave their premises until midday tomorrow or face arrest and fines. The rainbands that crossed the island this morning caused widespread flooding and rumours of a number of lives lost. Electricity was out for most of the day and remains intermittant. Winds from TC Belal are now causing serious damage across the island and will peak over the next 4-6 hours.
The most bizarre comment I've seen was something along the lines of ......This is the direct result of climate change caused by Israel and it's time for the global south to wake up to Israel's wickedness.๐ตโ๐ซ
SE portion of TC Belal's eyewall looks to be crossing NW Reunion island now. Reunion is experiencing high wind and heavy rainfall. Sustained wind speeds of 90KT, gusts to 110KT.
TC Belal has continued to intensify and looks to be of serious threat to the island of Reunion. There remains the strong possibility that the centre of the TC passes directly over part of the island today. Maximum sustained winds estimated to be 95KT with 115KT gusts over the next 12 hours.
