12hr shift in about 6hrs. I've had a few too many, feeling indifferent and hoping "deep down" that someone fires me. When did fiat mining become so hollow and meaningless. I see all my colleagues are in the same boat, justifying to themselves that it's normal to feel like this and all will be better once you reach "fill in the blank _____" milestone. I keep checking nostr too much lately, maybe that's a good thing. Anyway, this is a drunk note, good night nostriches. I do appreciate all of you.

Looking for advice dear nostriches. I know a columbian artist/filmmaker whos planning an exhibition project in downtown Reykjavík. He came to Iceland to seek asylum 24 years ago and stayed. The project is centered around new Icelanders from the outland (foreign countries). He now struggles to get art grants for his project and I immediately thought of bitcoin, perhaps lightning donations could help cover a part of the cost. My question is this: are there any crowdfunding sites that accept lightning donations?

The message is simple from Ugli Mafaka. The four S's! This silly character came to me after I heard a friend talk about what it was like to discover bitcoin. The discovery had over time good effect on his mental sharpness since bitcoin leads you along a journey of research, learning, and other cognitive exercises. During that conversation he off the cuff mentioned some random fellow that he thought was an "ugly mothafacka" ...( Icelanders use increasingly more English slang nowadays. ) 'Ugla' means owl in my language. So I named the character Ugli Mafaka. He's an owl, he's ugly, and knows it. Ugli Mafaka has a simple message: Stack Sats. Stay Sharp. 🤘

Long hospital shift. I tend to draw pictures on the ipad after such shifts. The result is often weird (*sleep deprivation*) but they might reveal something from my subconscious. 💀

I just discovered Sci-hub today. Scientific research papers and knowledge should be accessible to anyone who seeks it. The serial subscriptions and paywalls are annyoing. In the medical field this I find to be even more important, we are taught in medical school to practice evidence-based medicine and in order to do so we require access to the latest research, currently I need to pay for that access. The incentives are not in place to make this free and open. I'm happy there are people out there trying to counter this unethical trend. Now I know about Nostr, bitcoin and Sci-hub. Things are happening and it is gives me hope.

The global feed on nostr is supposed to be like the Wild-West, am I right?
