PearList v1.0.10 is out! Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server. What's new: Bug Fixes - PearList would not open on some phones. The app clears out old data in the background to save space, and it was removing a little too much. On a phone where that happened, opening PearList gave a black screen, or a black screen with a spinner that never stopped. Restarting the phone did not help, and neither did clearing the app's cache. This is fixed, so it cannot happen again. - If a space still will not open, PearList now tells you and offers to fix it. Before, a space it could not open looked like a space with nothing in it, which is alarming and easy to misread as your lists having been deleted. It now says what happened and what to do about it. Your lists were never deleted. - The app no longer sits on a spinner with nothing to say. If the part of PearList that holds your lists fails to start, you get a screen explaining that, with a button to copy the details so you can send them to us. New Features - Rebuild a space from another phone in your household. If a space on this phone will not open, PearList offers to copy the lists back from someone else's phone. Open PearList on their phone, leave it on screen, and tap Rebuild. It tries a plain retry first, since a space is sometimes just slow to open and that is usually all it needs. Improvements - Tapping a reminder takes you to the item. It used to open the right list and leave you to find the thing you were reminded about, which on a long shopping list is most of the point of the reminder. Now it scrolls to the item and highlights it. If someone has already ticked it off or deleted it, the list still opens and a message says why nothing is highlighted. @Zapstore #PearList #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #lists #groceries #chores #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearCinema v1.1.4 is out! Your film and television collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. New Features • Leave trailers and disc scraps out of your library. Each library now has a minimum length, chosen on the dashboard, and shorter videos are left out. Nothing on your drive is touched, and a button lists everything left out with its length. Files whose length cannot be read count as short, which is what catches the leftover pieces of a ripped disc. Improvements • Films now fill the whole screen on phones and tablets. The clock and the on-screen buttons move out of the way while a film plays, and the picture reaches every edge instead of sitting below a black band. Swipe in from an edge to get the buttons back, and everything returns the moment you close the film. Security • A show's poster can no longer be fetched by somebody who is not allowed to see that show. Series and season posters were not checked the way film posters were, so a person whose access had been narrowed could still load one they had seen before. The image only, never the film. • A web page you visit can no longer reach the dashboard running on your own machine. The desktop app leaves its dashboard without a password because it only listens to your own computer, but nothing checked which site a request came from. Now it does, and setups with a password are unchanged. @Zapstore #PearCinema #P2P #selfhosted #video #movies #privacy #jellyfin #Android #iOS

PearPetal v1.0.6 is out! A private, peer-to-peer menstrual & fertility cycle tracker. No account, no server, no cloud. What's new: New - Lock PearPetal with Face ID, your fingerprint or your phone's passcode, so your cycle is not open to anyone who picks up your phone. It also hides your cycle in the app switcher, and asks again once you have been away for a minute. Off until you switch it on, in Settings. - See your cycle history: how long your cycles usually run, how much they vary, how long your periods last, and every cycle you have logged. Tap "Your cycles" on the main screen. - Correct or remove a period you logged on the wrong date, and add periods from before you started using PearPetal. Under "Your periods" in Settings. - Erase everything PearPetal holds on this phone, from Settings. It asks twice, and afterwards the app starts fresh as though you had just installed it. Improved - Backups now save your tracked conditions, birth control setting, pregnancy mode, your name and your photo, so moving to a new phone keeps all of it. Backups you made before this update do not include them, so it is worth saving a fresh one. Fixed - Your partner's cycle no longer stops updating, and the app no longer opens to a blank screen that restarting your phone could not clear. If your app is already stuck, this update fixes it, and it repairs itself the first time you open it near your partner's phone. - You can log a period at any time of day, wherever you are in the world. In some countries PearPetal used to refuse in the morning, saying the date was in the future. @Zapstore #PearPetal #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #cycletracking #fertility #privacy #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearCal v1.0.47 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar What's new: ### ✨ Improvements - Mexican holidays: Turn on Mexico in Settings > Holidays and your calendar fills in the seven national rest days, plus election day and the presidential handover in the years they fall. The three holidays that move to a Monday move on their own. ### 🐛 Bug Fixes - The home-screen widget shows today again: Overnight it kept yesterday's events under today's date, and opening the app once did not always fix it. It now turns the page at midnight on its own, and keeps a week of days ready so it is never showing the wrong one. - Blind peers on Start9 start up again: After the StartOS 0.4 update, a blind peer would fail to start and keep restarting because the update moved its data folder. It now repairs itself and carries on. - Installing a blind peer on Start9 0.4 works: Install and update were failing with a not-found error. The right package is now published for 0.4 boxes. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearGuard v1.0.23 is out! A peer-to-peer parental control app What's new: ### ✨ New Features - Allow new apps automatically: a new switch in Settings lets apps your child installs be allowed straight away instead of waiting for your approval. Off by default, and you are still told about every new app and can block it. - Lock for a set time: locking a device now offers 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours as well as "until I unlock". The device frees itself when the time is up, and both of you can see when that will be. - Unpairing no longer throws your rules away. Schedules, limits and blocked apps are kept, so if you pair the device again you can put them all back from the child's Advanced tab. - If your phone is lost for good, your child's device is no longer stuck. With your PIN they can start removing supervision, but it takes a full day, you are told straight away and you can stop it with one tap. ### ✨ Improvements - You can now see when a rule change has not reached your child's phone yet. Their card says it is waiting for the phone instead of looking like everything is up to date. - A request you have not answered within a day no longer blocks your child from asking again. They are told nobody answered, and you can still say yes afterwards. - Uses far less data. Your child's phone no longer sends app icons every time you change a rule, and no longer resends its entire app list each time it reconnects to you. - Easier on the battery when your child is offline, and their phone no longer holds on to stale status updates to deliver later. ### 🐛 Bug Fixes - Extra time you approve while your child's phone is offline now reaches them. It used to run out before it arrived, while both screens said it was approved. - Rule changes stick. Reconnecting could quietly put your rules back to an older version, re-announce apps as newly installed and leave later changes silently ignored. - Two changes made at the same moment no longer overwrite each other. - Alerts survive you being offline. If enforcement was switched off on your child's device, or they used the PIN while you were unreachable, you hear about it when you reconnect. - Usage lands on the right day when you and your child are in different time zones. Their most recent day could be missing from your reports entirely. - A second parent's PIN is accepted everywhere in the app, not only on the block screen. @Zapstore #PearGuard #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #parenting #family #screentime #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearTune v1.0.7 is out! Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. What's new: New Features - Owners can now choose which folders each person is allowed to hear. Tick the folders on the People page and the rest of the library disappears for them - not listed, not searchable, not playable. It takes effect straight away, even mid-song. (Folder libraries only for now.) - If your access to a library is taken away, your phone now says so plainly instead of looking like the library is offline. - The library dashboard has a button to sign out every other browser, so a laptop you handed back stops being signed in. Improvements - Skipping or scrubbing a track no longer keeps the library sending music you already skipped past. Less work for the server and less mobile data for you. - If you asked several libraries for the same song, answering it in one now clears it from the others instead of leaving it looking pending forever. - Renaming someone in the dashboard no longer overwrites the name their own device chose. - Moving a device to a different person now reaches that device immediately, without waiting for it to reconnect. Security - A website open in your browser can no longer send commands to a library dashboard running on the same computer. - The app now only opens ordinary web, email and payment links, and asks for the camera and nothing else. - The library's private key and dashboard password files are re-locked every time they are read, so a copy restored from a backup cannot arrive readable Bug Fixes - When restoring your last listening session fails, the app now tells you instead of silently doing nothing. @Zapstore #PearTune #P2P #selfhosted #music #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore #Android #iOS

PearCinema v1.1.3 is out! Your film and television collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. New Features • Choose what each person can see. On the People page, every person now has a "Can see" line: tick the drives or folders they may watch, to any depth, and everything else disappears for them. Tick nothing and they see everything, as before. Films they have already downloaded stay on their phone. • Decide it when you invite them, not after. Pairing a new device now asks what it will be able to see before it shows you a code, so a device can be limited from the moment it joins. Handing over the whole library asks you to confirm. • The phone app works sideways, and on tablets. Turn it and the page fills the screen instead of staying a narrow column. Improvements • Films and TV shows with unusual filenames now get proper episode numbers. Anime numbered 01, 02, 03, files named only "E01", and several other naming styles were being filed with no episode number at all, so they could not be sorted or resumed. • Specials, OVAs and bonus episodes are now filed under "Specials" instead of sitting numberless, and creditless openings and disc menus no longer show up as episodes. • Films that cannot be read are now named on the dashboard. Previously a damaged or half-copied file simply never appeared in the library, with nothing said anywhere. • Converting on an NVIDIA graphics card now works with the drivers Linux Mint and Ubuntu ship. The bundled converter needed a newer driver than those systems offer. • When the video engine test fails, the page now shows what each graphics option said, in plain words, instead of one unexplained error. • A television waiting on its Media Assistant channel is now named in the phone's TV picker, with the one step needed to fix it. • Changes to what somebody can see reach their phone in about a second, without needing to refresh. Security • The file holding this machine's private key for reaching other libraries is no longer readable by other users on the same computer. Reported by a user; it is tightened automatically the next time PearCinema starts. @Zapstore #PearCinema #P2P #selfhosted #video #movies #privacy #jellyfin #Android #iOS

PearTune v1.0.6 is out! Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. What's new: New Features - Like the song you're listening to straight from the player. The heart is on the player itself now, in both looks. Improvements - The albums grid keeps loading as you scroll. No more "Load more" button. - Uses less memory while playing. The app now fetches music a little at a time instead of pulling a whole song ahead. Bug Fixes - Music now pauses when your Bluetooth car or headset disconnects, or when you unplug wired headphones, instead of sometimes carrying on through the phone's speaker. - Your queue no longer disappears after a pause. If the connection to your library drops while the phone is locked, the queue is kept and comes back as soon as the library is reachable again. - Tapping Shuffle on an artist now really shuffles from the first song, so the list no longer runs out after a few tracks. - WMA files from a Jellyfin library now play, the same as from a folder library. (Needs the updated library host.) - Music folders that use shortcuts or symbolic links are now included in your library. (Needs the updated library host.) - On a Mac, "Update now" works again. Note for Mac users already on 1.0.2 or 1.0.3: install this version by hand once, and updates will apply themselves from then on. @Zapstore #PearTune #P2P #selfhosted #music #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore #Android #iOS

PearCal v1.0.37 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar ## New Features -Reset app data. You can now clear PearCal from inside the app, under Profile then Settings. There are two options: clear your calendar and groups but stay signed in as yourself, or start over completely as a brand new user. Previously the only way to do this was to delete the app and reinstall it, which on iPhone meant losing everything with no way back. -Turn the relay off on desktop. Mac, Windows and Linux now have the same privacy switch the phone app already had, so you can stop PearCal routing through the shared relay if you would rather it did not. -See more in the widget. The home screen widget now shows more of your upcoming events instead of stopping at five, and fits as many as the widget size allows. -Know why a join failed. If joining a group does not work, the app now tells you what went wrong instead of quietly doing nothing. ## Privacy -Your recovery phrase is no longer stored in iCloud or Google. Older versions quietly saved it to Apple's or Google's cloud, with no way to see or switch that off. It now stays on your device only, and this update automatically deletes any copy that was already uploaded. ## Improvements -Clearer blind peer pairing. Pairing now shows progress on both the app and the seeder dashboard, with a countdown, and gets out of your way once it succeeds. -Accurate blind peer details. The blind peer list showed how many groups it was seeding at the moment you paired it, which could be badly out of date. It now shows the real number. ## Bug Fixes -Moving an event to another date made it disappear. The event vanished from your calendar until you restarted the app, and on a paired second device it could be lost for good. Fixed on phone and desktop. -Multi-day events dropped out of the widget. An event spanning several days showed on its first day and then disappeared, even while it was still running. -Groups could lose the key that keeps them private, which left you stuck behind a "can't sync" message. Existing affected groups repair themselves, and the desktop app can now repair them too. -Re-sharing an event did not bring it back for anyone else in the group. -Invite links were unreliable. Sometimes tapping one did not open the join screen at all, and older links could leave the app stuck on a blank screen until you force-closed it. ## PearCal Seeder -Visible on StartOS 0.4. Adding peerloomllc.com as a custom marketplace on a StartOS 0.4 server showed only PearCircle Seeder. PearCal Seeder now appears there and installs correctly. Servers on 0.3.5 were never affected. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearCircle v1.1.0 is out! A peer-to-peer location-sharing app ## What's New in 1.1.0 ### Improvements - You can now see which computers are really protecting your circle. The Seeders screen used to list every computer you had ever approved, whether or not it was actually doing anything. It now separates the ones genuinely holding your circle from the ones that have never checked in, and shows when each was last heard from. A switched-off computer no longer looks like a working one. - Linking a computer to your circles shows its progress. Pairing used to sit silently and look like it had frozen. Now each step is reported as it happens, so you can tell it is working. - Start9 owners can install the seeder from the browser again. Newer Start9 systems refused the older package format. The seeder now ships in a format they accept, so you can add it by drag and drop instead of using the command line. ### Bug Fixes - The seeder's details page on Start9 was blank. It now shows the information it was meant to. - App store listings showed the wrong "what's new" text. Every update was described as a first release. Each version's real notes now appear. ### Security - Your location is always encrypted before it leaves your phone. A timing problem when you first joined a circle could leave one early position unprotected. That was fixed in 1.0.25, so if you are updating from an older version you are getting that fix here too. @Zapstore #pearcircle #p2p #family #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearList v1.0.4 is out! Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server. What's new: New • Tidy finished aisles: tick off an aisle's last item and it folds away. Off by default, in Settings. Improvements • Better aisle sorting: 346 more brand names, plus fixes for items landing in the wrong aisle. • A lighter app: less to download and less space used on your phone. Removed • Local AI. PearPetal v1.0.3 is out! A private, peer-to-peer menstrual & fertility cycle tracker. No account, no server, no cloud. What's new: This release is about staying connected. PearPetal can now reach your other devices, and your partner's, even on mobile networks that block two phones from talking to each other directly. ##New - Connect anywhere. Some mobile networks will not let two phones connect straight to each other, which could leave pairing or syncing hanging forever with no explanation. PearPetal can now pass the connection through a PeerLoom helper server, but only after a direct connection has already failed. Your cycle data stays scrambled the whole way and the helper cannot read any of it. It can only see that two devices are talking and how much data passes between them. This is on by default, and you can switch it off under Settings, Connect anywhere, which keeps you strictly device to device. - Connection details. Under Connect anywhere you can now see how your phone is really connecting: how many connections it made directly and whether the helper was ever needed. ##Improved - A tidier Settings screen. Settings used to be several screens of scrolling with no clear order, and some things sat permanently open while more important ones were hidden. Everything is now grouped under Your cycle, How it looks, Alerts and connection, then Your data, and each group opens when you tap it. Your name and photo stay at the top. ##Fixed - On smaller phones, the Dial and Month switcher no longer covers the flower button and the information button at the top of the cycle card. @Zapstore #PearPetal #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #cycletracking #fertility #privacy #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearList v1.0.3 is out! Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server. ### Saved lists Shopping for the same things every week? Save a list and start a fresh copy of it whenever you like, instead of typing it out again. Open a list, tap its options and choose "Save as template". After that, "Start from a saved list" appears above where you add lists. The new list arrives with everything unticked and each item already in the right aisle. Saved lists stay on your own phone, so nothing about them reaches anyone else in your household until you start one. ### Connect Anywhere Your phones normally talk straight to each other, but some mobile networks block that, and until now a list you changed while out could sit unsynced until you got home. PearList can now fall back to a PeerLoom relay that passes the scrambled data along, so your lists keep syncing wherever you are. The relay cannot read your lists. It only sees that two devices are talking and how much data went by, and it keeps nothing. It is on by default, and there is a switch in Settings if you would rather stay strictly phone to phone. Underneath it, a line tells you whether it has actually been needed. ### A much smaller download The app is roughly half the size it was. Same features, same on-device AI, far less to download and less space used on your phone. @Zapstore #PearList #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #lists #groceries #chores #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearGuard v1.0.22 is out! A peer-to-peer parental control app What's new: ### ✨ Improvements - staying connected away from home: if your child is on mobile data or a network that blocks direct connections, PearGuard now routes through a helper so alerts still arrive and rule changes still reach them. It always tries the direct connection first and only falls back when it has to, and nothing readable passes through the helper. - a new Connection section in Settings shows whether the helper is being used and lets you turn the fallback off for your own device if you prefer. - Settings is easier to find your way around: the page is now grouped under Your profile, What your children see, This device and Data, instead of one long list of equal-looking sections. ### 🐛 Bug Fixes - changes in Settings now save the moment you make them, with a confirmation right next to what you changed. Previously the time request and warning options only saved if you scrolled to the bottom and tapped Save Settings, so a change you made and walked away from was quietly lost. @Zapstore #PearGuard #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #parenting #family #screentime #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearCal v1.0.36 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar ## What's Changed ## New Features **Connects on networks that used to block it.** Some mobile networks stop phones from reaching each other directly, and on those networks PearCal simply never connected. Now, after a direct connection has already failed, your devices fall back to a relay run by PeerLoom - a machine that passes the scrambled data along without being able to read any of it. You're in control of this. Profile -> Advanced -> Connection has a switch, "Use a relay when direct fails", on by default. Turn it off and your devices only ever talk to each other directly, at the cost of not connecting at all on a network that blocks them. To be plain about what the relay sees: nothing readable. Your calendar is encrypted the whole way and the relay holds no key. It can tell that two devices are talking and roughly how much, which is true of any relay, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise. It stores nothing and it's only ever used as a last resort. ## Bug Fixes **Moving an event between groups no longer makes it disappear.** If you moved an event from one group to another, it vanished from the calendar of the phone you made the change on. Nothing was ever actually lost, and it came back when you reopened the app, but it looked like your event was gone. Fixed. **One notification per change, not three.** A single new event could burst of changes into one summary wasn't working while the app was in the background, which is exactly when you'd get a flood of them. A busy sync now arrives as a single "Calendar updated" line that updates in place. **Rejoining a group that stopped syncing.** In rare cases a device could lose the key to a shared group. It would quietly stop receiving events, and any invite it created would be broken for whoever accepted it. PearCal now spots this, tells you, and fixes itself when someone sends you a fresh invite link. ## For anyone running a blind seeder **The Start9 Properties page works.** It was blank before; it now shows your seeder's key and live stats. **Update notes are accurate.** Every update used to show the original "first release" text no matter which version you were installing. **Faster startup reporting.** Seeder stats appear within seconds of starting rather than after a minute and a half. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearCircle v1.0.24 is out! A peer-to-peer location-sharing app What's new: • Connects on networks that used to block it. Some mobile networks stop two phones from reaching each other directly, and until now your circle simply would not sync on them. PearCircle can now pass the connection through a PeerLoom relay when a direct connection fails. The relay only carries scrambled data it has no way to read, and it keeps no copy of anything. • A switch to turn that relay off. Settings, then Staying in sync, then Connection helper. Leave it on for the best chance of staying connected, or turn it off to keep everything strictly phone to phone. • Seeder details on Start9. If you run the seeder on a Start9 home server, its Properties page now shows the seeder's public key, its nickname, which circles it is keeping alive and how much it has stored, plus a Support Development link. @Zapstore #pearcircle #p2p #family #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore
