If you ever wonder why God made the world this way, with so much inequality, I believe it’s important to remember that God did not create us to live in suffering or to treat one another unfairly. He created us with the opportunity to live in a good and beautiful condition, but we chose disobedience and, along the way, many people chose actions that brought harm to others.
So why is there so much inequality today? Perhaps because too many people choose to do what is wrong instead of what is right. We all have some kind of power, whether we have money or not. We have the power to speak, to influence, to encourage, or to hurt.
Where will you use your voice?
Will you use it to destroy someone’s confidence or to make them feel small? Will you look down on others simply because your standards are higher, or because you believe you are doing better than them?
And what about your own standards? Before judging someone else, maybe we should also ask ourselves: Am I living according to the standards I expect from others?
If we constantly see the negative in other people and treat them unfairly, how are we different from the people we complain about for making the world less fair?
Being kind costs nothing, yet it can mean so much to someone who is struggling.
Life is already stressful enough. We all have silent battles that other people know nothing about. Someone may be smiling, laughing, or simply scrolling through social media while quietly carrying something heavy inside.
Sometimes, people are not looking for anything complicated. They just want a little distraction, a small moment of happiness, someone to talk to, or something that makes life feel lighter for a while.
So whenever we have the chance, let’s choose kindness. Let’s be careful with our words, more understanding of other people’s situations, and less eager to judge.
We may not be able to fix every inequality in the world, but we can choose not to add more pain to it.
If the world is not becoming better fast enough, let’s at least make sure we are not part of what makes it worse. And whenever we have the opportunity, let’s be part of what makes someone’s day, or even their life, a little lighter.
