Happy Sunday🌞, today we have sunshine without heat and that's my favorite kind of weather 😅 We've controlled our beehives today and made the first split of one hive for this season. Seems they come into the mood to swarm very early this year. I've taken a picture of the "Günsel" in my garden. There are so many bees in it also a lot of wild bees. Since we are bee keepers we mow the lawn first time in the year very late and since we do that I spot several wild bees there I didn't recognize before. So I would like to ask you all to do that also or at least keep stripes or isles where you let the flowers grow. I'm obsessed with the myths of Ancient Egypt. Their gods, godesses, the architecture, the formal language. I had the luck to meet an Iranian stonecarver who sold me four of those handcarved Scarabs which are made of Turkmenic Tourquoise. There are beautiful copperadders in the stone which have to be polished from time to time. I made the ring first and it was sold after a few days. The same customer wanted to have a Bangle in the same style and now I have only one green Scarab left now. I think I will make another ring with it and will keep it for myself. 🙃

The final step is setting the stone. After 25 years of being a Goldsmith I'm not too nervous anymore. But it wouldn't be the first and it would definitively not be the last stone I destroy during setting. If it's a Brilliant it's ok you can always get the same but such a gemstone is a unique thing and if I break it, the hole work was for nothing.
