Every time I take a break from using nostr (Damus) and then come back I see some decent improvements
Bullish on the future of this protocol

Back to nostr (Damus) it is.
What’s just happened is akin to bitcoin adoption in the west.
People in the west don’t need bitcoin. They don’t get the use case and thus adoption is slow.
Well, we’ve been spoilt with Twitter, a bit like living in west. But that may well be changing..
I refuse to put my ID into Twitter.

What do I tell them? They’re the editor of a newspaper that circulates around 300,000 copies a month in the UK. Soon to be global.
I’ve been told (quite rightly) that there’s no hope.
However, I will persist. My ego won’t let this one go.

People often say bitcoiners sound doom and gloom without realising that we’re actually the most optimistic people out there.
I think I’ve realised why this is.
We are very good at describing the problems with the existing financial system. So good that when people listen to us, they realise themselves that things are well and truly fucked and it’s only a matter of time before something happens. As in the financial system has a fit and the people in charge have to change the underlying system to try and maintain the illusion of control (Ie BTFP etc).
The reason bitcoiners are so optimistic in the face of future doom scenarios is because we feel like we have the tool/system which will protect us in the future. Or at least, we have a system where the existing financial problems cannot happen.
The reason no coiners see bitcoiners as doom and gloom is because they don’t understand bitcoin. They hear us spouting the problems with the existing system, but then hear us talk about this magic internet money scam crypto thing, without realising that bitcoiners actually think that bitcoin is the solution. So they hear us talk about the problem, but not the answers.
I, personally, am so optimistic about the future and I know that isn’t out of the ordinary for the bitcoin community.
Have been working hard on the roofs this week
Look what I found as a stark reminder that we need a currency resistant to debasement, a news paper from 1962
The mad thing is, just the labour on changing the roof on this house is now 3/4 x what the houses originally cost

Drank beer last night as part of a family celebration.
Now I’m lying in bed (since 430) with a massive head ache and I can’t sleep.
This happens every time I drink 🤦♂️
Anyone else?
It’s raining today, so I have a day off work 🙌 perks of being a roofer…

Orange pilling is easier when 📈
I was the same. Price drives emotion. Emotion makes decision. We post rationalise to make ourselves feel smarter/stroke our ego.
