Apple’s iOS 26.4 update adds age verification in the UK

UK users can confirm their age by scanning an ID or using a credit card.

Pushed a pretty important update to #Nymchat that introduces a Performance Mode that auto enables if your device isn’t the most powerful or if it can’t detect at all. Also fixed a bug that prevented Android app users from being able to use Nymbot and benefitting from the relay proxy pool (which is where a Cloudflare worker connects to all of the Nostr relays and does event deduplication server-side). Testing on a $40 Android device and the app is so much more performant! Make sure you’re on the latest version v3.55.239 from clicking the about button and if not hard refresh or force close the app and reload.

The cool thing about #Nymchat is that it's basically like a Slack/Discord/Matrix styled client. Someone could legit fork it, strip out all the public relays, strip out the geohash related parts, use my Nosflare relay implementation to spin up a private relay, edit a few bits to lockdown the relay and logging into the client to only select pubkeys, and now you have yourself your very own internal comms tool for a business or personal friend group chat.
