By default, when entering #Nymchat it assigns you a keypair and this keypair persists until you logout or clear browser cache. However, there is a feature in settings that allowed generating a new keypair if you reloaded the app, instead of keeping the persistent one. Now, a new "hardcore" option has been added that rolls the keypair after every sent message. So, you are assigned a new identity after every sent message, where your pubkey is different each time.

Interesting... something nuked my btc core node with too many rpc connections and now my db keeps locking... could knotzis be trying to take down core nodes? Or, is this somewhat common and i just need to tune the available workers/threads to higher amount?

I should have prefaced this with it not even being salty about someone who might not want to use Nymchat. That’s fair enough. But I hope they would use original Bitchat at least that is also open source! View quoted note →

Every part of Nymchat is open source. Even down to the Cloudflare relay proxy worker and Nymbot chat bot code. So there is never any question about how the app operates. And yet I’m surprised to see just how many people will go and use some spammed web client that is closed source. I genuinely think <1% of the population actually cares about true decentralization or FOSS. I guess that’s why so many FOSS projects become abandonware. Hoping that trend sees a change.

Anyone ever have Bitnodes report your Bitcoin node as unreachable, but it's actually reachable? #AskNostr
