Jesus had to get people’s attention, so he did miracles. A miracle is an apparent breaking of the laws of nature or the manifestation of highly improbable events. Things like instant healings, feeding thousands of people from a single meal (and getting leftovers), and even raising the dead. Only God has such control over nature, meaning Jesus was God, or at least empowered by God.

Some say that Jesus was a good teacher, but not a Messiah. That’s impossible. A fraud is not a good teacher. As CS Lewis put it, Christ is either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord. How do we know which? The resurrection of Christ is the private key to our salvation. It is what unlocks our freedom. It is what separates Jesus from all the rest of humanity. Without it, we are still dead in our sin.
