When walking around in public, make eye contact with people. Smile. Nod in acknowledgement. People have been pretty weird since 2020. Recent events have perhaps turned us even weirder. People are scared. People are anxious. People don't trust each other anymore. Show them that everything can be okay again.

Nostr recalibrates your expectations from social media. No one needs tens of thousands of interactions a post. It's asinine. A number for a number's sake. Who can keep track of that many comments? That many people? Reveling in such large numbers is vainglory. Nostr, on the other hand, allows for a small circle of real friendships to start forming. People you recognize. Passing a collection plate around during liturgy seems extremely distasteful to me. I understand that we're called to tithe and I'm keen to do so. However, making a public display of it seems gross and it subtly shames people who can't currently afford to tithe. I feel like all tithing should be done anonymously. "But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth." Matthew 6:3 seems to support this position. Am I missing something here? #christianity #orthodoxchristianity
