Hi music lovers! We got a bunch of improvements for you: 1. Tracks listing on music profiles now sort albums together, sorted by track numbers and release date. 2. Songs on the main music feature are now listed by their released date if available, not by updated date. Make sure your tracks has a "released" date in the metadata, otherwise it will be listed by updated date. 3. Added support for duration on tracks, so go back and edit if your track doesn't have duration yet. 4. Listing of artists didn't load their avatars, unless the profile was already cached, now it loads the avatar correctly. 5. Listening: You can now see what other people on the Nostr network is listening to, at the bottom of Music page. 6. If you open music profile that has no albums, it will automatically show the tracks listing instead, one less click. 7. "public" and "private": If you're making a playlist (album) for yourself, make sure you uncheck the "Public Album" toggle, then it won't be listed in the public realm of album releases. While you are preparing to publish your new album, you can keep it private while editing, and then change to public when it's ready! 8. There are some older music events on the Nostr network that was different than the new protocol, added a backwards compatibility for those so they will play correctly now. Unfortunately some of the artists didn't use Blossom server but external hosting and those tracks are gone, not playable anymore. Want to see something cool? When you use #Nostria and play music, your status updates (NIP-38) with the song track you're listening to. This has been visible on the top of your profile for a while, you can also set a custom status text if you want. But now, on Music, you'll see what everyone else is listening to! Great way to discover new music! Let's hope the other Music apps on Nostr implements this, it's part of the protocol.

Here is how quick and easy it is to clean up your relays and find new ones to use, using #Nostria.

Dead relays is a serious issue on Nostr. It results in users losing their data, especially when there are few migration tools and clients doesn't automatically re-publish when changing relays. If you login to #Nostria now with a known dead relay, you'll get this notification at the bottom of the app: On the Account Relays there is also a very clear indicator if you're using a dead relay. I found @Bitcoin Magazine has a few of them... maybe time to update? Next quest is how do you find relays? That is coming very soon! Here is a hot tip for you all. Nostria has local search, so if you want to find back to an event you remember, you can open search, choose "Local Database Only" and then you will find what you are looking for. I was looking for this post by @semisol but couldn't quickly find in the feed (15 hours ago he posted), but with the search, I found it quickly.

There is unfortunately a lot of users who have dead relays in their relay lists. Nostria has added filter for these in the app to avoid exhausting resources connecting to these. We also made a dedicated monitoring service that will monitor if they come back and to verify we don't add valid relays to the filter. Upgraded the Nostria Discovery Relay for Europe. It was a bit under powered and had some downtime. We're ranking up expenses on service infrastructure... At the same time, we're building a "dead-relay" monitoring service and adding filter in Nostria app to avoid connecting to relays that are no longer available. This should reduce resource consumption on your devices and improve performance and reliability on finding events.

Content research and content creation is amazing on Nostria! You can save content you discover using bookmark lists, then you can easily add everything from your bookmarks into the article you're writing. Today we also added import of articles from zip files. You need an unsigned event file and you can include photos and videos in the zip file, it will automatically upload and link to the uploaded media correctly. After you activate Web of Trust (Settings), you can filter out all those pesky spam notifications in #Nostria. Did you know you can search your notifications? Very useful to find back to something that happened earlier.

What content should we produce to help promote Nostria? - Short form videos that shows off individual features? - Screenshots? - Articles that explains different features? - Post more notes with small updates? - Make a very long video that explains every single feature? Planning on doing a long video that demonstrates everything, as it takes time to produce any of this content and that time distracts from building, but it's a balance - without users, why build anything at all? Nostria strive towards perfection, for elegance and smoothness. To be a trustworthy app and experience that just works, that doesn't fail randomly. At the same time, delivering a massive amount of features, so you don't need context switching between a bunch of vibe-coded apps. While there is a lot of great smaller Nostr apps, there is a cost-benefit of adopting these. Any smaller and focused app might not get the attention and care as larger apps, as there is smaller user base. Hey everyone! We hope you all are enjoying Nostria and we want to ask you all to help spread the word! But most importantly, we want to know what features are not working the way you expect them to, what do you want changed? What is the feedback you've received from others regarding Nostria? We want to increase the adoption of Nostr as a social network, we're building Nostria to help with that. Please share any and all suggestions and we'll consider them all. For example, is there too many features available for first time users? Should we dramatically reduce features and instead have a button to "Go to level 2"? Like your profile starts at Level 1, and you start a journey to unlock new features, to avoid overwhelming anyone that is new here? (of course not "lock" them down, just make it a smoother transition, where a user can jump to level "5" whenever they want). What features should be removed? You might have noticed the right side pane? If you favorite someone, it starts showing your favorites. That's not the only thing it's there for. Something is coming very soon that we hope you'll like.

Get ready for a refined article editing experience on Nostria! Split pane allowing you to view preview while editing on larger screens. The preview has been unified and is very similar to editing. The toolbar can be dismissed for more focus on the content. Media can be picked from our library, easy to use your existing photos and videos. What are you going to write with #Nostria?

Here is a tip: Toggle the "Unread only" in Notifications so you can focus on going through all your notifications. Other recent updated: - Updating all app stores: App Store, Play Store, Microsoft Store. Awaiting approval for App Store. - Improved loading of new follower notifications. Improved loading of new notifications when scrolling. - Fixes issues with notification descriptions. - Added support for screenshot saving, article download and printing in Share dialog. - Improved the share dialog - including adding support for repost and quote for articles. - Added support for NIP-70: Protected Events. - Fixed indentation for threads. - Implemented loading of NIP-05 other than on profile, to be used in threads. - Added a metric debug tool. - Added more information to the profile details page, including showing reports and mutes. - Added "Cached" option for People, allowing you to see all locally cached profiles. This is very useful in combination with Web of Trust score to find new profiles. You can filter out following from the cached, allowing you to only see non-followers. - All Web of Trust values is available in the details page, including followers count. Nostria has stated that it will never list followers, but what do people want? Yes or No? - Improved the text input for Messages, had a little "jumpyness" to it. - Adds a spam warning so users don't react or comment on events that has many tagged users. - Made the spam notification filter default 100 tagged users. This only applies to new users, search for "spam" in settings to configure it yourself. - Implemented support for 10086, indexer (discovery) relay list. This means the Discovery Relays configuration is now synced across devices. - Implemented support for Personalized Web Of Trust. Go find the "Trust" section in Settings, click the service provider and complete the setup. This currently requires a browser extension to signup, cannot be done with nsec or remote signer. Regarding browser signer extension, we got some exciting news for you very soon! - Profile hover cards only opens on avatar, not the name. - Favorites hover card now has rich formatting, including rendering of users, images and more. - Improved the event toolbar layout, this took a lot of work to tune and get right. Hope you all are enjoying this! - Swipe to left on image dialog now closes instead of navigating away. - Mobile optimized user profile and more. - Emoji picker for chat messages and note editor. - Media picker for chat messages, either browser your existing media or upload new. - Personalized Trending - This is just early preview, it's a way to view all locally cached events by their popularity in terms of comments, reposts, likes and zaps. The initial experience with this is amazing, it serves me the most popular content from my own social network and beyond. That's some of the recent updates, but not nearly all of them.
