I don’t understand why some people who identify themselves as republicans call every little thing that makes them uncomfortable “woke” because the term’s historical roots come from the (famously Republican btw) “wide awakes” who supported Abraham Lincoln and would rally for slavery abolition. Later on it entered as a more general term for being aware of human rights most commonly used in African American Vernacular English. Like? Does it come from a place of ignorance? Self-hatred? I’ve been up for hours because at the monastery I woke up for 3:30am church services almost every day. I am sad I don’t have access to an open church right now.

Ok time for me to stop playing around on nostr. I had a lot of relaxation time today at the monastery. My trip will be ending soon and I will be back to generating content again. especially audio recordings due to @7fqx being so supportive of me doing more of that 🥰

I won’t be checking nostr regularly still for a few more days because I am staying at an #orthodox monastery 🙏🏻 pray for me that my stay is fruitful and I do good work for the church and my own soul while I am here! I am so thankful to be here!! I will write more later 😇
