I'm @shoq from ExTwitter. Self-appointed evangelist for the #fediverse, working on open source projects that can help it become the communications backbone for the planet that Twitter might have been.

Leave it to the always awful Jake Tapper to let Nikki Haley Gish-Gallop through her litany of overbaked observations, stupid partisan blithering, and really bad ideas. But at least she isn't Vivek Ramaswindle. So there's that.
I'm sure they're lovely people at barbecues, but Amara Walker and Victor Blackwell have to be two of the dullest Cable News hosts in the history of dull cable news. Perhaps if CNN would wake up and realize this, they'd do better than 350,000 viewers on a weekend. Are all television programming executives just mindless twats like Chris Licht who stumble-climbed their way to the top, just so they could take the rest of us plunging through the bottom?
By your own admissions, many of you talented programmers are not as good at pinpointing needs, marketing, or promoting your output. I'm good at motivating people to do cool stuff for fun, satisfaction, and/or profit. If you'd like to talk about projects (of yours or mine) that can help the fediverse or humanity move forward, I'd love to talk about how we could work together. So please DM me. Until surgery pain lifts, I've got plenty of time to talk. (I prefer chatting by Matrix or signal.)
Wouldn't it be cool if you could designate your own reply categories that people could respond to? In the simplest form, agree, disagree, or argument 1, argument 2, etc. We're still stuck in the same dumbass, "just setting up my Twitter" content frames that Jack Dorsey unleashed in 2006. Activity Pub can change all of that with a little more time, effort, and imagination.
This will be like Wikipedia shaming 15 years ago. Soon everyone will be using the tool and no one will think twice about it. What will matter is the final output, not how anyone arrived at it. But the secondhand plagiarism will be a huge problem that I don't think anyone has a solution for. Like most of our huge problems. We have quite a collection going, eh?
Paper Retracted When Authors Caught Using ChatGPT to Write It
I'm not sorry about this part. I always hated the word. Not as much as I hate 'toot.' But very close. The only thing worse than making a mistake, is remaking a mistake, and the 'verse should have known better.

Annoyingly, the TechCrunch author makes no mention of the #fediverse. Maybe they just hate that name?

They're not releasing me from recovery yet, for reasons unknown. They probably want to check to see if I'm still annoying. I assured them I was. They're not taking my word for it.
He must have been in great shape to get up that high, what with all the energy that movement takes, and still have the strength to pull himself up and over the top. #LowRentSpidermen
Good morning. And yes, I heard about the bullshit WSJ poll showing Biden and TFG tied. It’s horseshit. I won’t let it spoil my day, when air conditioner returns or some new medical drama are sure to need my time and attention.
‘Death Star law’ to abortion: the new crop of HUNDREDS of extreme rightwing laws taking effect in Texas [as America continues on its steady march to become Hungary.]
Happy to hear it, Dan. Sometimes we’re not sure if you’re a real person, or a bot stand-in representing a dozen shy programmers who prefer to keep a low profile. You’re like a one-person Summer of Code, all year round :)

Call me a dreamer if you must, but it would be really helpful if some of you in the tech press would pen an article that is much less about the X.wars, and more about how the fediverse is about far more than just Mastodon, and promises a new era of web openness allowing folks access to a whole new world of apps, integrations, diversity, and maybe even a little common decency for good measure.
