Hole 10, and I felt like I was going to pass out. But there was no way I wasn’t finishing this round. No chance. I was on a golf trip at Sand Valley with my dad, brothers, and brother-in-law, playing the legendary Lido course. And there was absolutely no way I was tapping out. Maybe it was my pride. Actually—scratch that—I know it was my pride. My brother and brother-in-law had already thrown in the towel after nine holes, and I wasn’t feeling much better. We somehow managed to plan this trip on the two hottest days of the year in Wisconsin. Nearly 100 degrees, 90% humidity, and absolutely no shade in sight. This was our second round of the day. We had just walked off Mammoth Dunes, where I shot the best round I’ve had in ten years—3 over par. Boom! But the Lido? The Lido is a different beast. A legendary course resurrected from history—a New York masterpiece plowed under during WWII, digitally recreated, and rebuilt in Wisconsin. No trees. Just endless dunes, 200 bunkers, and heat that could melt your soul. I was sweating so much I had to chug a full bottle of water every hole or two. At some point, my stomach started rejecting the water. Not good. We’d already seen multiple people hauled off the course in ambulances for heat stroke. But I refused to be one of them. Every hole or two, I dunked my head in water, desperately trying to keep my body from shutting down. Somehow, I made it through all 18. Victory. Dinner? That was another story. I forced down a couple bites of chicken and mashed potatoes while my dad and brothers shot me concerned looks. Eventually, I gave in and went back to the hotel to crash. A couple hours later, I woke up ravenous, devoured the rest of my now-cold dinner, and passed back out. And the next morning? I got up, walked to the first tee at Sand Valley, and played like nothing ever happened. For some reason, this is exactly why I love #golf #golfstr #family #golftrips #bitcoingolfclub
