I laid down some segments today for my next episode of Dangerous History, “The Mad Dream of Conquest,” which will be the first part of a miniseries centering around one of the major military campaigns of the Peloponnesian War between Athens & Sparta in the 5th century BC. Despite the fact that these events took place almost 2 & 1/2 millennia ago, this war in general (& this campaign in particular) has a shocking amount of parallels & relevance to recent world events. I’ve still got a fair amount to record for it - this is gonna be a pretty big episode- but I made a good dent today, so tonight I will sleep the sleep of the righteous, & tomorrow I’ll get back to it.
