I had to take out a second mortgage for these bad boys at the local butcher’s near Dad’s, despite us being in the heart of cattle country. But I figured it would be a nice treat for our last evening here before we continue on our province-wide excursion. One ray of hope when I asked the young proprietor if I could pay in Bitcoin was his reply. “We aren’t set up yet, but if you show me your setup maybe I can start.” I said “Yeah, I’m sure as a business owner are you have noticed that the Canadian dollar is essentially a melting ice cube.“ He said, “Yes, even though Bitcoin price is down it’s not about how high bitcoin is, it’s about how worthless the dollar gets day by day.“ I told him how refreshing it was to meet someone that actually understood the ills of fiat currency . I showed him my wallet setup and how easy it was to do a transaction, and I would expect that the next time I come here, he may have started a journey of some sort. Just messaging my young twenty something daughter from a province away while we are on vacation. She’s holding down the fort while we are away, enjoying her weekend, taking care of the animals and the garden and continuing to respond to emergency calls in her position as a volunteer firefighter/EMT. So proud of this young lady.

TIL that most of the anti data centre news is being funded by a self proclaimed Maoist lobby with deep pockets. The unspoken war between China and the west for AI dominance makes 5D chess look like child’s play. Kind of makes one wonder how many other narratives have been similarly funded for years to keep Americans at each other’s throats.

Just watched this. Probably funded by those who are looking for an excuse to crack down even further. But gratifying nonetheless. Holy shit.
