It struck me today that we in the “freedom money” community within Bitcoin, and the “free speech and communications privacy” space, likely have to adjust our expectations. I know I’ve had to. Firstly, with regard to what percentage of people we will ever be able to convince that these things are important. Secondly, how many people we will ever convince to take a hard look at what money is and how important soundness and hardness is. Thirdly, that we won’t be vilified and hunted down for building and living according to these principles. I see everyone on Nostr in the higher latitudes wrapping up their gardens this weekend. This was the last thing to come out of the ground today for me too. An experimental late season bed of parsnips that I planted from seed. It’s been freezing overnight for a week or so. The odd night below freezing before that. Of course I didn’t get the massive tubers that I got off the main crop, but it’s good to see food coming off such a small space this late. All I have to do is make a deer kill between now and Nov 30 and we will have a little hedge against retarded food prices. I’ll blanche and freez these this week. #gardenstr #prepping #grownostr

I tried Quail eggs that a homesteading coworker brought me for the first time. Very finicky to fry (just because I wanted to see what little bite-sized fried eggs would be like). But yeah, they tasted like…..eggs. Maybe just slightly sweeter or something. But it definitely reinforced my desire to make a small enclosure here on our town lot to raise some.
