If you have strange issues with @Amethyst like long time following profile without any name or info, NWC not working and other weird stuff happening. Uninstall the app and reinstall fresh, reconnect your accounts with Amber. I hesitate to do it, by fear to loosing all settings but everything was restored (unlike in older versions), including emojis picked and amounts of sats in zap menu. And all bugs were resolved. Don't be stupid like me and reinstall as soon as it's getting buggy. Hopefully I don't have to do it too often, but here I got Amethyst for years without reinstall, could be possible that all updates create the bugs.

@PayPerQ do you have any issue with the web service ? All models return an error that they arr not available right now.

After more than a decade off Meta services, I was confronted to the reality that people still use their services massively and even if I could migrate most of my close circle to alternatives (at least to communicate with me, almost none quite Meta yet). But when it came to promoting public events and services that need to reach a wide audiance, I faced the wall of their private garden once again. So I decide to rebuild a complete new identity, to cover my real identity, separate the activities and build a new brand from scratch. So I would get a full set of account, Meta, Google, X, LinkedIn... The idea is not to fool Google and the government that I'm the same person but to at least don't make it publicly obvious. First, get a new SIM card. It was easy, even if I had to KYC but it was OK in my threat model. I had already a new domain name to use, with associated emails, so emails is good. Still for some service a gmail address would help (I guess). Next create new accounts. Google : I can create an account linked to one of my email, but then it's blocking my new phone number that is require for verification and I cannot get a gmail address (still I can login for other Google services). Strangely enough it says that I used this number too many times but I don't think I used it before for Google, maybe the previous owner ? LinkedIn : I can create the account but as my browser delete everything when closed, I was locked out at second login. Asking for my phone number, OK, and then asking to KYC... Not OK. X Twitter : After second login it ask to confirm with SMS and it's never sent to my phone. Locked out. Instagram : Again I could create an account but at next login I'm asked to 2FA by SMS and I never receive the SMS. It offer to verify by WhatsApp, so I tried to install WhatsApp on my old phone with the SIM. WhatsApp : cannot register, it's giving error with integrated verification of the missing call and I never receive the SMS nor the call for verification by code. Facebook I didn't try yet but I have a bad feeling about it... I don't know what's the issue with the SMS verification, I can perfectly get SMS and call from my other phones but these services fail to send me a code. Meanwhile on nostr, it takes 2 secondes and no verification whatsoever to get a profile. I'm looking for the time people will ditch these shitty legacy services and move to something that doesn't need any kind of permission and let full control of their data. #privacy #google #meta

Not sure what's going on with @Amethyst right now but I have many people I follow that have no profile information visible, only the default robot and npub. In the relays list I have a bunch of relays for indexing and searching, all with 60-80% uptime (by the way, I don't understood why uptime are so low on nostr, it should be 99%+). Am I doing something wrong ?

After years of using @Amethyst I still don't know how to properly configure the long list of relays. Like in the DM section, default one are shown as 0% uptime for 2 of them and nos lol had 1% uptime. So I assume it's not working properly. What are the other option ? Can I use my local relay for DM ? Can I use any other relay with good uptime from my list ? Why is it so complicated ? Why we cannot have 2-3 relays doing all functions and just optionally for special use add different ones ? Is there a proper tutorial explaining each type of relays, what they are doing, which one to pick and not to pick, which one are mandatory or optional, etc...
