I think the odds are quite high that DOGE is going to *cost* US Taxpayers money. When the admin has to face hundreds of lawsuits that it has to defend, that costs us money. When the admin loses some of those employment law cases (& those aren’t the only lawsuits they are facing), it will end up paying back pay for a bunch of people who didn’t do any work, costing us money & some of those people are going to be employed already but still receive the pay anyways. If the attorneys filing these lawsuits seek attorney’s fees and get awarded them, that’s even more money. All of the money needed for all of this will of course be printed out of thin air.

By and large Bitcoiners criticize people for being NPCs but, personally, it’s all the people with main character syndrome that scare the shit out of me.

My multi billion dollar idea is “ADP but not shitty”. As bad as they are it makes me wonder just how bad their competitors are. My other idea is “Buffalo Wild Wings but with decent service”. Has anyone ever been to one and actually been impressed with their service? It seems to be universally bad regardless of geographic location.

@jack: I just received my Bitkey and I set it up. I’m wondering how the Mobile Pay function actually works. Is it working with Cash App and making a credit & then settling up on chain sometime later? Otherwise I can’t see why 1) there should be a $200 limit and 2) why there should be an ability to send $1 (who should do this on chain? Nobody!), and 3) why it’s (only) in dollars and not #Bitcoin or Sats. I don’t want a bunch of small UXTOs. And I don’t think we should be suggesting low information bitcoiners should do so either.

What’s the best fiction and the best nonfiction book you’ve read that’s at least 50 years old? 📚 (Not including the Bible not Quran. Those are pretty common answers.) #Bookstr

@chowcollection has made me think about the importance of patrons on the world. Here is another example but it wasn’t called that. #Bookstr

Is there any inheritance/estate planning mechanism with #Bitkey? Can you add more than one person’s fingerprint? It’d make a lot of sense for some folks I know but I hesitate to recommend it without a way for their family to recover their funds if they pass. Cc: @jack

What’s the likelihood we end up with separate lightning networks? Here’s how I see this happening. The government passes a law that requires all companies who operate lightning channels to 1) know who they connect to and 2) that who they connect to is a person or entity subject to the laws of the United States. As of right now, most lightning payments flow through one of these large companies. This means anyone who connects to the likes of Cashapp, Strike, or River will know that the government knows who they are and they can expect to be subpoenaed to find out who they are connected to. And suddenly we have a US regulated and surveilled lightning network and then another rest of the world lightning network.

But is an alien invasion good for #Bitcoin  or bad for Bitcoin?
