Surprise!
I have little chance of changing the modern lexicon, but I would propose two changes:
1. Call it Show Off Media instead of Social Media, and
2. Call it envy scrolling instead of doom scrolling.
If people had to use these terms to describe how they spent their time, it would be an improvement.
Money printing by any other name is still money printing.
Sometimes you have to keep the cup.
