Experience the freedom of owning your computer and data, free from corporate overlords like Microsoft who steal your data for AI training and have gone batshit crazy with AI. The Linux desktop is not only beautiful, but it also gives you privacy and it's fun! Not to mention, Linux developers aren't going to steal your data to train shitty AI. You are in charge of your system. #linux image
Damn. A Brazilian certificate authority trusted only by Microsoft has issued a presumably-unauthorized certificate for google.com: All security practices in the world are useless if one of the most visited sites such as Google gets a unauthorized TLS certificate issued. How this still exists in 2024 is beyond me.
Friend: What was your first Linux distro? Me: Slackware back in 94. Friend: Did you enjoy installing Slackware? Me: Not really. On my first attempt, I lost my DoS partition. Then I couldn't get X running on. But, yes, apart from that, I loved it. Friend: And you decided to stick around it for the rest of your life? Me: *nervous chuckle* Friend: Well? Me: Why not? I already lost data, and it can't get worst than this. Lmao. So I kept my Linux, and the rest is history.
The NYT vs. OpenAI court case found that OpenAI deliberately deleted vital evidence, such as proof of unauthorized AI training on data. OpenAI is also telling courts that it doesn’t have backup for deleted data and calling it a technical glitch πŸ˜‚ are you kidding me? This is not the first time Sama lied and deleted the key evidence. If an average guy does something like this, they will be jailed immediately. But there is special treatment for billionaires like Sama.

"cd" is short for "Change Directory," but feels more like "Conjure Destination." BTW, typing `cd ..` repeatedly is like spelunking in the dark depths of your filesystem, hoping to find your way back to the surface. `cd -` always take back you to previous working directory But fear not, typing `cd` will always take you back to HOME sweet home. See https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-change-directory-in-linux-terminal/ for more examples including CDPATH and other vars to increase your productivity. #unix #linux #opensource image
Mozilla Warns DOJ's Google Breakup Plan May Hurt Small Browser Makers: The maker of Firefox browser said in a statement the DOJ's blanket ban on search revenue-sharing deals would disproportionately impact smaller players that rely on such agreements, while failing to meaningfully increase competition in search What do you think? Is Mozilla correct here?

You know what? Fuck this. I am done with writing code and stuff. *5 minutes later* continues to write program while sobbing Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―
Suppose you see someone, perhaps your co-worker or friend, or someone switched from Windows to Linux and struggling with the command line. What would you do?
Good. One of India’s largest news agencies, Asian News International (ANI), has sued OpenAI in a case that could set a precedent for how AI companies use copyrighted news content. Asian News International filed a 287-page lawsuit in the Delhi High Court on Monday, alleging the AI company illegally used its content to train its AI models and generated false information attributed to the news agency
