really had been wanting to add some data lookups to a project but mempool dot space API has a limit on how many requests you can make but notably they don’t publish what the limit is. this made me really nervous about relying in them. the data backing for mempool is an open source project called electrs. it turns out im already running an electrs server due to my nix-bitcoin install. so all i needed to do was figure out how to interface with it and viola, got the data i need all on my own ♥️ big winners here imo are nix-bitcoin and tailscale which makes building personal infrastructure across home servers super easy!! as well as bitcoin being open source. lets go decentralized future!!

went to see a tiktok comedian i lovr tonight who’s from Boston/NYC (the morning brew guy, dan toomey!). his whole crew was from the Northeast. it was really interesting to see which jokes fell flat: no one reacted to „climate change“ or wokeness in schools. someone tried to joke about how you can say gay and retarded here, and no one reacted. i regret not yelling „america!“ lol 😂

After almost 4+ years, 487 comments from 19 reviewers... the spec proposal for adding v2 opens (aka dual-funding) to lightning is officially merged as spec in LN!! huge thanks to Bastien Teinturier, Rusty Russell, Dustin Dettmer, Matt Morehouse and countless others for their review and input on the spec. doing spec work is a really long process, that requires so much work and input from lots of different stakeholders. it's probably the hardest type of work a programmer can do, and i'm so so thrilled that we got this over the finish line! what's next? splicing and liquidity ads!
