Some people seem to pitch Nostr as a privacy tool, but isn't it kind of a bad idea to spread your IP address to 10 relays at once? It even creates plausible deniability for any of these relays if they decide to dox a user.

Withdrawing Bitcoin from an exchange or receiving Bitcoin in general can very insecure. If an attacker has access to your host device, they might be able to alter what Bitcoin address is passed along to the receiver. image How can you be sure that the other person or exchange has received the correct Bitcoin address that you sent them? image By making use of public key cryptography, you can create an encrypted message, which includes your withdrawal address, your account ID and a secret. It is encrypted to the known public key of the exchange (or person). image The exchange then decrypts the message and presents the user with the secret. This way, the user can be sure that the exchange has definitely received his Bitcoin address. This protocol does not exist yet, but if there is sufficient demand for it, we will work with our partners to implement it. You can find more information about this in our blog post:

So, I get the argument that Bitcoin will stay something niche for most people, similar to Linux. I think that's certainly the case currently. We can build bridges between fiat and Bitcoin, but like proton or wine, they will always add friction. What do you think is needed to overcome this nicheness? Would it actually be bad if Bitcoin stays less user facing and more relevant in the backgroundy, like Linux?

My Phoenix wallet has 14 active channels with the oldest one being over 3 years old. I've had zero force closes! Acinq has been absolutely nailing lightning development right from the beginning. Can't wait for splicing to make this even better. โœจ

Your bitcoin is locked because binance halted withdrawals. I just withdrew 10k sats for free via Kraken. We are not the same.

Probably the biggest usability upgrade in onchain privacy we've had in years and y'all complaining. The integration has been public for months and now suddenly everyone seems to shit on it? Totally not orchestrated ๐Ÿ‘ป

Not being able to delete notes from Nostr is pretty bad imho. "Tweet" something by accident and it'll be available forever ๐Ÿ‘€
