Colorful lunch! Forgot to post it at lunchtime… Green coconut Thai curry Pink pineapple Yellow bell pepper Purple eggplant Dark meat chicken White basmati rice It’s nice and my best Thai curry yet, but still not as good as my Indian curry or Thai curries from (good) restaurants 🤔 This time, I not only used coconut cream, but only the creamy top of the can of coconut cream — the clearer liquid at the bottom went to make rice along with some bone broth. But the curry was STILL not as thick and creamy as I feel it should be. Wonder what I can improve 🤔 Possibly part of the problem is I’m a little afraid to reduce the sauce once the coconut is added. In the past, heat has seemed to destroy its flavor… but I can’t figure how else the better restaurants are getting their curries thicker. #lunchchain #cooking #curry #grownostr

I don't hear anyone pointing to them, or men today who commit much more egregious acts than expressing their thoughts, saying, “𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.” No, our response is usually, "𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑓𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑤𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚?!" Sin isn’t gender-specific. And neither is calling. So if we’re going to make this about gender, then let’s be consistent— 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥, 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐧? 𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻: First high priest, but led Israel into idolatry by making the golden calf (Ex. 32:1–6). 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻: The wisest man alive, yet turned to idolatry (1 Kings 11:4–11). 𝗘𝗹𝗶’𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗻𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘀): Priests who stole sacrifices and slept with women at the entrance to the tent of meeting (1 Sam. 2:12–25). 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝘀: Lied to the Holy Spirit and died under judgment (Acts 5:1–5). 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘀: Abandoned Paul because he “loved this present world” (2 Tim. 4:10). Let’s be honest: the issue isn’t that women are more prone to deception, sin, immorality, or that they were divinely designed to live under male authority. The real issue is 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳—𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵. We have a real problem with labeling control and power as holiness and obedience. So, if we’re going to weaponize Scripture against women, let’s be just as rigorous with men— but then we'd have no one left standing. 𝑶𝒓... We could repent for how we’ve mishandled God’s commission. I’m a bit obsessed with my little persimmon jar! It’s ✨copper inside✨ I’ve wanted to make a persimmon-shaped jar for over a decade. What I really had in mind was something larger and suitable for keeping a sourdough starter in, but this was a good start! It’s a great size for a trinket box. Maybe stash your collection of foraged persimmon seeds you’ll plant eventually (maybe that’s just me who does that…) I love how the speckled clay recalls the speckled appearance American persimmons can sometimes have, and lends a lot of character to the metallic copper interior glaze. The copper glaze also color matches really well with the iron-washed parts of the piece. I hope to eventually make more similar to this in different sizes.
