Today was a good day: Finished Syncing the #Bitcoin blockchain on my umbrel node. Anything I should dive into first? Looking to connect a wallet? Maybe #Sparrow?

Taking back my sovereignty in cyberspace. I have had a fantastic week. I’m using #Nostr more and X (formerly Twitter) less, my foundation device hardware wallet is on its way and today I bought my first KYC Free #sats.  Previously buying #bitcoin through a centralised exchange was easy and convenient but when my trusted UK exchange Bottlepay shut down its services in July 2023 I knew I had to find a different solution. Enter Peach Bitcoin. Peach Bitcoin is a company based in Switzerland that focuses on P2P #Bitcoin trading. Without the need to stick its nose in my business and ask for any of my personal details just to use the service. That’s right, part of the reasoning for using Peach was that they do not require KYC information in order to buy #bitcoin. This is something that goes against the principles of freedom and privacy and I am making the conscious effort to reduce my KYC footprint. What better place to start than with my money. There are other options to buy Bitcoin KYC Free such as Bisq and Hodl Hodl and I do plan to use Bisq in the future but the reason I did not start with them is that it required some sats in the first place. Something that if you have bought Bitcoin before is no issue but as someone who wanted to experience buying KYC Free Bitcoin for the first time as if I had just lost all my #BTC in a boating accident. So for me Peach was the best option. Opening Peach up for the first time you are greeted with a friendly Orange UI that has everything you need to buy KYC Free. image On Peach you can buy between between 50,000 – about 3.5million #sats. This is perfect for the first time buyer who can stack in smaller friendly amounts. From here you can decide the amount you want and the payment method you would like to use. Peach currently has 12 supported currencies including – #GBP, and #EUR. There are options to do Bank Transfers and use online wallets such as Paypal or Revolut. I set the amount I wanted to buy and selected the payment method. This creates an offer that is now open to be accepted, and almost instantly I was greeted with potential offers at varying prices. Find and match the offer that suits you and you will enter into a trade with that person. image *Now I have not confirmed this but from my understanding from the sellers POV of view, accepting an seller offer requires you to place the #Bitcoin into an escrow (a 3rd party to act on behalf of the transacting parties)* Once the trade is in progress a little chat function opens up and you can talk to the person you are buying from. This is a cool feature of buying P2P and is how #Bitcoin was intended to be used. A P2P electronic cash. Once greeting the other person was done I sent the money from my Revolut account and confirmed in the Peach app that I had made payment. The seller quickly confirmed and that was that. The Bitcoin was on its way to me. Now before I started I turned on Batch transactions, this is a feature in the App that groups together transactions to save on block fees, I opted in for this and as a result I had to wait a while for my Bitcoin to enter into my Peach wallet within the app. Once the #bitcoin arrived in the wallet I transferred seamlessly to a hot wallet ready for the next leg of its journey. Something I will be writing about in the future. My final thoughts on this. Simply mind blowing, I did not have to give up any Identification to make this trade and the whole process was easy as collecting money. Literally. The price I paid was about 10% over regulated exchange price but that is simply a small price to pay for not having to give up any KYC information. So there you have it, my first experience in buying KYC Free Bitcoin. Something that will 100% be happing again. I hope you enjoyed this, I have more first time experiences coming including setting up node for the first time and a review of the Foundation Device hardware wallet. I hope this has encouraged you to dump your centralised exchange join the P2P revolution. Thanks all. - Pleb Didact.

The idea of giving up your ID just so you can use a tool, is outdated and goes against sovereignty in cyberspace. Today I bought my first of many KYCFree bitcoin.

Can you have two private keys on one hardware wallet? Using a foundation device if that makes a difference? #bitcoin
