Too bad I'm shutting down my lightning node. It was my second attempt in 2 years. First time it was a hardware failure on a home server and I didn't notice and channels were remotely closed. Last attempt was on a VPS in the cloud. I monitored via Zeus on mobile but it didn't tell me mynodee became out of sync and 8 good channels were forced closed right at the highest in bitcoin fees. VPS fees were not covered by the routing fees alone. I was loosing too much money and my motivation for running a low fee node has shifted recently.

You guys running #Bitcoin Lightning nodes, like myself, know that you are running a hot wallet and the seed phrase is in plaintext in a file? Right? Is that server well protected, up to date and monitored? This is not a fix all, but at least the private key is safe: There is a new gadget around that I have to test, it's a HSM for LN node. It keeps the seed phrase external.
