If you find yourself gaining weight while on a ray peat style diet, take a look at how much fat you are consuming.
Are you consuming the same amount of fat you were back when you were on a low carb diet? You’re probably going to gain weight (yes even if you’re eating saturated fat). While in the healing stage, it is especially important to eat lower fat so your body can adapt to using carbs as fuel! Once your metabolism starts revving up, you might start adding a bit more fat in BUT you might find you don’t even want to.
And when I say low fat, I mean getting 20-25% of your calories from fat instead of the 50% many of us are getting without even realizing it.
You don’t need to eat a ribeye with butter on it, and a side of full fat milk, and a side of fatty mashed potatoes with cream and butter!
Eat a sirloin instead cooked in a bit of ghee. Skim your milk. Have a baked potato with a bit of butter (it’s about balance)
Before the supermarket, if someone was eating butter it was because they had skimmed the fat off their milk to make that butter. No way were they going to let that precious milk sugar and protein go to waste so guess what they were drinking? SKIMMED MILK.
Where is my research? 🧐 I have done it myself and it has worked and heard countless stories of this working for others as well!
And I really wish I would have known this years ago, instead of going through a weight gain and loss rollercoaster.

I love collecting old cook books, and this is one of my favorite finds. It was printed in 1965 and shows menus from around the world, then tells you how to cook their signature dishes.
This menu is from The Four Seasons Hotel in New York City - known for its EXPENSIVE, luxury dining.
If I was eating here I would get:
- Iced brochette of shrimp - $2.50
- Beef marrow in bouillon - $1.85
- Calf’s liver and prosciutto, Venetian style - $5.25
- Lamb steak in sushi curry with mango rice - $5.85
For a grand total of $15.85, I could eat like a queen at one of the fanciest restaurants in the US!
Today, I’d be lucky to get in and out of chipotle for that much (would definitely have to skip the guac). Crazy what #inflation can do in 60 years!

Try this tonight before your usual bedtime routine:
Get a spoonful of raw honey, spread it on your face like a mask, sit there for 20 minutes, then wash it off.
Afterwards, apply your favorite moisturizer while your skin is still a bit damp. I’m using my grass fed tallow balm from SATSurated.
This is going to exfoliate AND hydrate your skin. You will feel fresher than a newborn baby!
I do this 3 nights a week and let the mask sit while I soak in a magnesium bath. My skin has never been better.

I love the taste of pumpkin spice but don’t want to pay $7 to drink Starbucks moldy coffee topped with addictive laden syrups and creamers. So I make this instead.
To make the cold foam:
- 1 spoon of this pumpkin butter from Trader Joe’s (pictured below)
- 2 oz cream, preferably raw
- A splash of maple syrup
Use an electric frother to blend it all together and then put that foamy goodness on top of your latte or espresso shot!
Bonus: sprinkle a bit of maldon smoked sea salt and/or pumpkin spice seasoning on top
You can make this even more nutrient dense by adding collagen, raw milk, or colostrum to your espresso before topping it with the cold foam

Essential oils are not what you have been led to believe. They are derived from volatile plant defense chemicals.
The most upsetting part is that people using essential oils are often doing so because they care about their health enough to avoid artificial fragrances.
Essential oils are to artificial fragrances what supplements are to pharmaceuticals. A step in the right direction but often times still harmful.
This is one of the many reasons I am creating my own tallow based skin care - I only want whole plant extracts, not volatile compounds, on my skin!
Modern feminism is #sexist
Modern feminism is based on the premise that jobs God uniquely created for women are so worthless, that women must try and imitate men’s jobs in order to have value in society.
Men cannot grow children in their bodies. Men cannot feed their families with substances produced by their body. These capabilities are UNIQUE to women. Real #feminism would celebrate these God given capabilities and maximize women’s freedom to do these things, rather than enslave them to the 9-5 grind.
