How come politics always devolves into left vs right? It has been like that across time and also between pretty much all countries that are not one party dictatorships. Strange no? Politics seems to always be centralists competing with each other for their flavor of centralism. Classical liberals, libertarians and liberally (as in freedom) minded anarchists can't pull voters because the message of self reliance is a hard sale. The masses will vote for handouts because they're high time preference retards.

Years ago I was dumb and bought the intrinsic value argument. Money needs to have intrinsic value, they said and bitcoin doesn't have any. Then I paused and thought about money, realizing that fiat doesn't have any intrinsic value either and that works as money for the time being. If fiat needs no intrinsic value, and if fiat works as money, money needs no intrinsic value. Money just needs to be accepted as money. And as time goes by and as more merchants accept bitcoin every day, the intrinsic value argument becomes more and more laughable.
