Had fun with the vibe coded web client today. I think the AI was getting more wound up than me. It even tried telling me the result we were getting was 'impossible', to quote it precisely. What I managed to do was to get images, links and quotes to render properly in the pop up modal. That was frustrating, but it turned out there were issues with either a server cache or problems with coreftp, I'm really not entirely sure. But its issues I haven't encountered before. Still, after much back and forwards, it was resolved. Next is to render images within quoted notes. The next success was getting the follow/unfollow feature working. That was a big one. I left it on follow packs integration. As it stands, the files are updated, the follow packs feature is accessible via two places atm. It *should*, in theory, appear straight away when a new user creates an account. What actually happens is that the modal doesn't appear. It's there, I checked the console, everything appears, technically. It just won't appear on the damned screen. I've also created a new problem. Now, the conversation modal loads but I can't scroll through it or close it. I got fed up with it all at that point and decided to take a break. I'll have another cracking at it tomorrow. Anyway, tldr; vibe coding is fun, stuff gets done, debugging is a bitch, stuff gets broke, I couldnt have done all this this quickly on my own.

So vibe coded web client got another bit sorted today - viewing conversations happens in a popup modal. Shows before and after notes. Still not 100% sure its working properly, but can work on that over time. Next job is adding follow/unfollow options. Then follow packs, with a first time prompt for people creating a new account. I'm actually really enjoying this 🥳

Seeing highlights of this current crisis (I've not been around much recently) it strikes me that the best path forward is ossification of bitcoin. One problem we have with laws and governments is that they perpetually do stuff. It's usually detrimental. What we have right now works. It's enough.
