In stark contrast, Nostr feels like a place for civil conversation to build the future, with an overarching feeling of common ownership. The last time I felt this excited about a technology was when I found Bitcoin in 2013. Before that was pocket computers / smartphones in 1998.

Nostr is exactly what a social media network needs to be. The content, user base and associated network effects are in the open domain. Meanwhile the user experience is determined by competing apps. Your app is censoring, rising to the top toxicity, fake news, bots? Move to another app. Users and independent developers have a choice.

Seems to me like the heat signature of large institutions doing the buying. Timing of the inflows spans approx 16hrs, with the quiet zone being Asian work hours. This suggest it's Western institutions across US and Europe.
